I have no doubt that Cork will bring a bit crowd. There are over half a million people in Co. Cork. North Louth is 10 times smaller, maybe 50,000 people?
Who knows if the 3,000 figure is correct. If it is, it could be down to a lot of factors and may not be representative of the final figure.
SK is expecting 30k at the Aviva according to this piece in yesterdays Scottish Sun.

Yeah would like to think we will have a lot more than 3k up there. I can imagine there will be a spike in sales with the tickets going on ticketmaster now so maybe a lot of fans from outside the city being able to get tickets that maybe they couldn't when they were only on sale from the club shopQuote:

Dundalk have confirmed a second train to the Aviva. The first train sold out very quickly, and a second 1,000 capacity train has now been booked.
Fans were struggling to organise enough buses, nearly 100 are booked. Bus companies as far away as Belfast and Cavan have had bookings from Dundalk fans.

Should be Dundalk to win it and take the double, but you never know. I've no real preference myself.
Stephen O'Donnell is a major doubt for the match, he went off injured in the first half v Bray. If he doesn't play, Shields will start the match.
With regards to non regulars attending, I don't have an issue with that, most clubs get something like 3.5 times their avg crowd at a final in terms of support. Also almost everyone I spoke to at our match last Friday were taking people who hadn't been this season. In our house it's usually just me going to watch Dundalk every week, on Sunday we have 4. That will be repeated all over the area and should see Dundalk get to around 10k, and fans living in the UK and beyond will swell it possibly even further. I'm sure most clubs making the cup final see similar trends.
Tickets going fast in Oriel Park. The club are now selling Upper East blocks.
And the FAI/ticketmaster are still just selling the worst seats in the house, in a corner of the Cork end, or premium level at 3 times the price.
Still plenty of good centrally placed seats in the lower West Stand available in Cork. A lad in college down there is getting quite a few for Dundalk fans. He sorted a mate of mine with 10.Quote:

#Corkisgreen really seems to be taking off now. Club have secured a second train to the game too. City hall went green yesterday and Friday will be green day. Some great photos from around the city. Buzzing!
