Longford 4 Athlone 3. Sounds like it was a bit of craic.
Waterford Utd 3-1 Wexford Oscar Traynor team. Game was played in Carriganore tonight.
Inishowen Oscar Traynor 0-1 Finn Harps
Wilfried Tagbo with a second goal in two trial games. Looks like he'll be signing for the season.
FAI Intermediate player of the year 2013 Malachy McDermott up on trial at the minute too after leaving the Donegal GAA panel.
Derry City 3-0 NI Juniors (basically a side of IL First Division players).
Pretty poor match all round.
American goalkeeper Lubin that was with Cork on trial is playing tonight for Galway against Finn Harps.
Galway United 0-0 Finn Harps.
Harps have played four games in pre-season without conceding a goal now.
UCD 1 - 6 Dundalk FC
Sligo 3 Waterford 0.. Sligo look to be very strong . Devaney adds good bit of pace on the right, while Sandr also looks lively. The striker Nielson looks a very good addition. They could surprise a few this season, but have to be tested at the back.
Wexford 0-1 Pats
I wasn't down at it but not a great game by all accounts.
No not up to much at all we played ok at best but in fairness to Wexford they were well organised and not a bad side,it was typicall pre season stuff.
Cobh 3 Longford 3 in Fota Island today. Two late goals for Cobh after Town made a lot of changes.
Not something to be celebrated too much, Harps look a solid outfit, same as last year and still toothless upfront, same as last year. If Horgan wasn't so negative you could have a good tilt at the Division IMO. Why is a right back taking your penalties and not a striker? Strange.
As for us, a lot of work to do. Without 3-4 proper additions we will be relegation fodder at best this season.
All the Harps fans were wondering why McNulty was taking the penalty too. We're fairly crap at penalties though for the past number of seasons.
We were missing almost the entire backline from the starting team last night. Ray Foy at right back and Ger O'Callaghan at left back are both central midfielders.
Would like to think we'll have a tilt at promotion this season anyway, but we are incredibly negative alright, which severely hampered us last season and I fear will do the same this season.
Alan Keane was our right back when taking our penalties.
No reason full backs can't take penalties. Leighton Baines and Denis Irwin for example. I'm sure there's plenty of others.
Galway United vs NUIG Collingwood Team on Tuesday morning at Fahy's Field http://galwayunitedfc.ie/friendly-ar...lingwood-team/
Can we expand this off topic to defenders in general just so I can mention Graham Gartland and his unique 'record' for penalty taking? ;)
Who were Sligo playing, some year 8 team from the local school?
Ya Balysadare Utd. They celebrated their 40 year so got Rovers out. It was as much a fundraiser for them as anything, with a good crowd at the game. Balysadare is a great wee football town, only 5 minutes out the road from Sligo. Really hard working club with teams at all levels and make a good contribution to local football. 3 of Rovers u19 at the moment came through their set-up.
What was the final score in the Sligo game?
Sham Rovers had a good 3-2 win over Brann Bergen on Friday night, despite conceding 2 pens.
Playing Cabinteely tonight in Richmond , think it is their first game.
Anyone have the Cabinteely line-up?
Is it not on Extratime?Seen it there earlier.
Dundalk beat the NI Junior International side 5-0 tonight in Armagh.Kurtis Byrne and Ronan Finn with a brace a piece and Chris Shields also netting.
Dundalk's next match is against Drogs on Friday evening in the Malone Cup.

Subs:

Handful of players there with both Premier and First Division experience.
Finished 6-0. It was 1-0 at half time and the Cabinteely keeper had to go off, their second choice didn't have a great game.
They've a few decent players, I thought they'd be a lot worse. If they can stay compact at the back and well disciplined they can pick up a few wins in the first division.
Best of luck to them.
For us that's 15 goals scored and 0 conceded in 3 games this week. Kilduff with 4 of those all off the bench. Looking forward to the real stuff starting and seeing how we're set up for the season. I think we're a central midfielder or 2 short to win the league.
85.7% of games.
They'll be playing us four times.
ba-dum-tish!
Most of the players named there were under 19 players from around Pat's, Shamrock Rovers, Bray etc. A few of them signed from LSL, and a handful of them already with LOI experience. Goalkeeper Shane Fagan was with Shamrock Rovers B last season in the First Division as well as their under 19s.
They've still time to sign a couple more too, and will certainly be no pushover, and Eddie Gormley will have them well drilled too.
