Alternatively, I think we could turn him into a hatchet man that can hoof the leather off the ball up to Marky Sull.

Miller could be a fantastic signing for City. I felt they needed to add a new element if they are to kick on from last season, Miller could offer them a bit more guile to complement the physicality.
Cork City could be the team to beat with that signing! what sort of wages will he get I wonder? Will he get a paydrop compared to his top flight Australia days?
Miller's probably going to be great here but Cork lost their best midfielder last year so the improvement won't be that significant
A good news story off the field though, which always helps
So with Patterson gone we're now down to a front line of Cillian Morrison, Ryan Curran and Nathan Boyle. The latter two, IMO, aren't ready to be starting every game yet either. Doesn't fill you with much hope for the coming season.
Joke that we've let Patterson go. Been our top scorer the past two seasons, and the League's top scorer in 2013. It's pathetic how much we've gone backwards as a club.

Wow, that is a very poor squad, Derry could really struggle this year.
I don't think it's that poor, they only important players lost are Molloy and Patterson, key players, but all the other guys are very young and improving very quickly, they will be replaced.
If I was the coach I'd try to bring another defender and that's all. At the moment I would say 6-7
Personally, I hope Derry do absolutely crap this season.
This should be our squad complete:

I wouldn't be too worried Limerick look like they're going to be right s***e. We've only got 10/11 players signed and most of them are from the under 19's and not up to premier division football imo. Something has to give down here with the move back to the Markets Field coming up. There's no point trying to build some momentum with a team that would struggle in the first division never mind the premier!
Kynan Rocks and Stephen Kenny both re-signed for Ramblers along with Graham Mccarthy from avondale.
Squad updated. Delighted to have held onto Gleeson, excellent goalkeeper.
Goalkeepers: Ger Hanley, Conor Gleeson
Defenders: Stephen Walsh, Kilian Cantwell, Colm Horgan, Marc Ludden
Midfielders: Alex Byrne, Jason Molloy, Ryan Connolly, Gary Shanahan, Paul Sinnott, David O'Leary, Aaron McDonagh
Strikers: Enda Curran, Jake Keegan (subject to being granted a work permit)
As per the Gleeson/Curran/McDonagh announcement (http://galwayunitedfc.ie/curran-glee...onagh-re-sign/), this is the Galway United squad as things stand: Ger Hanley, Connor Gleeson, Colm Horgan, Kilian Cantwell, Stephen Walsh, Marc Ludden, Gary Shanahan, Paul Sinnott, Alex Byrne, David O’Leary, Ryan Connolly, Aaron McDonagh, Enda Curran.
No mention of KEegan or Molloy.
Ya thats the frustrating thing about the squad being so poor and the budget clearly down. We needed to hit the ground running in the markets field to build and keep the crowds. At the moment we are heading towards the usual 500 or so people that always go and that's about it.
Limerick clearly aiming for the play off position with a poor first division squad made up of 2/3 senior players and a few from an underachieving u 19s
They're not in hideous shape though, defence is similar with O'Donnell a real prospect in goal and Leahy in for Folan and the midfield isn't massively weakened with O'Conor coming in for Lynch. It all basically rests on whether Clarke can get them their goals or not but they're not exactly being left in the trails of Bray, Bohs and Drogs.
In goals Barry Ryan and Shane Cusack are gone.
From our defense last season, Leahy, Oji, Nzuzi, O'Connor and Folan are either gone or not re-signed yet.
From the midfield that finished the season Lynch, Hughes, Djillali, Doherty are all gone or not re-signed.
Gaffney and McManus gone from up front.
I was assuming Oji, Leahy, Hughes and Nzuzi would stay therefore only really meaning Ryan, Folan, Lynch and Gaffney were lost from the XI. If the others go as well I'm well on board the Limerick will be dire bandwagon.

Dylan Mernagh in that Waterford squad too from what I'm led to believe.
I always thought he was totally over rated. Had chance after chance and delivered very little.
