Oh please don't say that's going to happen.. Was so looking forward to the season starting.. anywhere I can get a list of friendly games for the next week as I have a few days off work and would like to take in a few?
Pike B 3-3 Wembley
A decent run out in our last pre-season game this, we raced into a well deserved 3-0 lead in half an hour. We made several changes using our large squad, and Wembley played themselves back into it. They were short numbers, very short in fact two of our lads were used to fill out their 11. But they still had quality players. Fair result in the end I thought, now we look forward to Tuesday night.
shame about wembley, pike b have had a good preseason.
Result
Pike B 3-1 Hospital
Jeff Mc (2 pens)
Hospital O.G. accounted for our goals in a scrappy but hard fought win. 3 points in the bag all that counts. On to Knockainey.
Good result for ye Zizou, Jeff mc is a good signing will score a bag of goals. The other fellow up top with him aint bad at knocking them in either http://foot.ie/images/icons/icon12.png
Best of luck to all teams this year......may the best team win!!!
Forever Red, Is there a lad playing for Mungret named Alan Connors, tall fella, centre half? used to play for geraldines?if so how's he getting on with ye?
There is Bambino. Signed with us last year. Was having a great season with us but did his knee in the FAI game against Bellurgan just before Xmas & didn't play again until this pre-season. Doing well so far this year or maybe i should say hes not doing well.....keep the interest away!!!
Dont worry forever red, I'm not involved anymore at junior level, father time caught up with me so just a keen spectator now!! I was just wondering cos heard he was toggin out with ye and used to play with him, nice lad and not a bad player!!best of luck for the season!!
zizou that crystal ball must be huge pal.
Sorry we let you down Zizou!!! nearly a clean sweep!
Knockainey 5-3 Mungret
Poor start to the season for us. We started very sluggishly & were 2 down after about 15-20 minutes. To be fair to Knockainey they started very brightly & hassled very well. The first goal was slack marking followed by a great finish, the second a defensive mistake. We dominated the rest of the half & had a couple of chances eventually converting through Pa o Donoghue just before HT, however Knockainey scored directly from the kick off after our goal which looked a fair bit offside. HT 3-1. We started the second half & controlled possession for much of the half but didnt create alot. We scored after about 10 mins in second half (Brian Cotter) but again gave away a goal straight away. We continued to have alot of the ball with Knockainey sitting back (understandably) & trying to hit us on the break. Both sides got 2 late goals.
A disappointing result with poor mistakes costing us, not taking anything away from Knockainey they got the lead & held it well. Best of luck for the rest of the season.
"Best of luck for the rest of the season". Can't understand why people don't come on here and sign off with comments like..."hope ye drop points for the rest of the season and we win the league" or "hope we beat ye next time we play each other" etc :-)

6.30p.m Kick-Off
Shannon Hibs vs Caherdavin
Dromore 1 vs 2 Shannon Town
Newport 1 vs 3 Caherconlish
Mungret 2 vs 2 Moyross

Any results on tonight's matches
Newport 1 vs 3 caherconlish. Danny healy with newport goal. It was close game 1 all with 10 mins left. We gave away a penalty and conceded 3rd right at da end. Better performance by us from 1st game. Very young side out again
Knockainey 1-1 Pike Rvs B
A point earned here for us for sure, we made 5 changes to our 11 from victory over Hospital on match day one. We went in front from a superb early finish by Graham Bourke, then the home side came at us hard and quickly equalised. We were pushed back a lot and needed some outstanding defending and goalkeeping to keep the home side at bay, but thanks mainly to our organisation and effort we deservedly came away with a point. Tough tough place to go and I expect Knockainey to trouble everyone out there this season.
On to Moyross.
Shannon Hibs 1-3 Caherdavin
Hi lads. Long time since I've been around these parts since I'm not at home any more. Anyway, just looking at the scores from the weekend and was wondering who Moyross picked up this season?
