Greatpenalty save from Bunn, granted he did give it away in the first place, perhaps justifiably.
He's a great shot stopper, pretty sure he will be our no 1 keeper before long.
( although as Long is a striker that's perhaps not saying much :p )
Just been looking at his penalty statistics, he saves over 29%, not sure if that includes the recent one.
That's high, however Ruddy is very slightly higher. A lot of keepers I looked at are a lot lower.
For example Given 17,39 %
Joe Hart 21 5 (23,81 %) saved.
Edwin van der Sar 50 8 (16,00 %) saved.
Petr Cech 49 14 (28,57 %) saved.
Actually it seems they have just updates his stats
Mark Bunn 32 10 (31,25 %) saved.
That's impressive, I did find one player higher but on a statistically low sample of games, there may be others though

Asmir Begovic 24 2 (8,33 %) saved. Only 8%!!!
It's amazing how low some of the top keeper are on penalty saves!!

Sent off today at Sunderland for handling outside the area. Sounds like he didn't have much of a choice.
He didn't really handle it. Terrible header from Turner put him in a bad spot. It was off his elbow/midriff.
The ball hit his elbow therefore it's handball. As Charlie wrote, he was put in an awful predicament with that defensive header which didn't make it into the box. A craftier goalie might have dealt with the situation better, hard to say as it was a split second disaster response.

If you're being hypercritical you can say he should have had his arms behind his back to avoid such a situation, but he didn't have much time to think about it.
Yeah, but there's a school of thought, that goalkeepers in that situation work on their instincts, thinking comes afterwards.
It wasn't an easy one for Bunn, the backward header was about 90% responsible for the mess.
He is very good on crosses, would go as far as saying he is a 'Hot Cross Bunn'

The penalty wasn't necessarily the wrong decision it was just the way that the decision was made that was bizarre. And yeah, then Norwich just fell apart....
Sunderland's win today drags Norwich right into it, and Stoke and Villa.
I remember a few weeks back Stoke wer 22-1 to go down, now 7/2 (were about 8-1 before today)
Wigan are the favourite to go down of those with a chance, but I think it's Stoke who are in being trouble.
1 point out of their last 21 does not bode well.

Yes if things get too hot Bunn is the sort of player who could suffer from burn out,
as happened when King Alfred managed Norwich.
Norwich safe now, looks like Wigan are doomed unless they can win their final two matches.
But a draw and a 10-0 win might also do it for them.

He should only be brought if Trap considers him a contender for competitive games over the next year or two. Forde, Westwood and Randolph in particular have little experience of international football, and another keeper should only be brought in if he is legitimately thought of as a contender.

Played the full 90 for Aston Villa last night and kept a clean sheet.
Bunn got a clean sheet for Villa today, his second in four appearances in January, conceding only one goal in each of his other games. This included saving a penalty and almost pulling off a brilliant double save against Leicester. If he keeps up this form, could he put himself into consideration for the Euro 2016 squad? Should he get a run-out in the upcoming friendlies?
