Did someone have an incident in a bakery when he was a child?

It seems Ruddy could be out for a lot longer than expected.

How did that pan out?
Have to earn a crust, so I'll make this brief: Norwich linked with a move for Lee Camp.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/for the summary; http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...es-set-1547350 if you can bring yourself to read/believe the Mirror.
Made a great save late on to help earn a draw v Spurs, I don't think many keepers would have kept that one out, Sigurdsson
surely thought that one was going in.

Was thrilled to make the save.

Greatpenalty save from Bunn, granted he did give it away in the first place, perhaps justifiably.
He's a great shot stopper, pretty sure he will be our no 1 keeper before long.
( although as Long is a striker that's perhaps not saying much :p )
Just been looking at his penalty statistics, he saves over 29%, not sure if that includes the recent one.
That's high, however Ruddy is very slightly higher. A lot of keepers I looked at are a lot lower.
For example Given 17,39 %
Joe Hart 21 5 (23,81 %) saved.
Edwin van der Sar 50 8 (16,00 %) saved.
Petr Cech 49 14 (28,57 %) saved.
Actually it seems they have just updates his stats
Mark Bunn 32 10 (31,25 %) saved.
That's impressive, I did find one player higher but on a statistically low sample of games, there may be others though
One not so impressive
Asmir Begovic 24 2 (8,33 %) saved. Only 8%!!!
It's amazing how low some of the top keeper are on penalty saves!!
Best I found
Ján Mucha 14 6 (42,86 %) saved.
But a small sample of just 14 penos, still good though.
Sent off today at Sunderland for handling outside the area. Sounds like he didn't have much of a choice.
He didn't really handle it. Terrible header from Turner put him in a bad spot. It was off his elbow/midriff.
The ball hit his elbow therefore it's handball. As Charlie wrote, he was put in an awful predicament with that defensive header which didn't make it into the box. A craftier goalie might have dealt with the situation better, hard to say as it was a split second disaster response.
Video here, the commentator said it came off his chest but like geysir I though it hit his elbow.

I hear he has Bunns of steel.
If you're being hypercritical you can say he should have had his arms behind his back to avoid such a situation, but he didn't have much time to think about it.
Yeah, but there's a school of thought, that goalkeepers in that situation work on their instincts, thinking comes afterwards.
It wasn't an easy one for Bunn, the backward header was about 90% responsible for the mess.
He is very good on crosses, would go as far as saying he is a 'Hot Cross Bunn'
Already said polster, albeit in a different context.
Controversial peno just awarded a couple of moments after Bunn pulled off a stunning fingertip save from Podolski.
He almost saved it too. Terrible decision making from the ref.
What a pitiful ending for Norwich. talk about falling apart at the seems.
Yeah he could have stopped the penalty.
Well Spurs fans will not be happy.
you are right too, awful call on the penalty. Exactly what is wrong with that sport.
Not good for our Seamus and our-ish Darron's of playing Champions League next year.
Meh, that was a tall order anyway.
The penalty wasn't necessarily the wrong decision it was just the way that the decision was made that was bizarre. And yeah, then Norwich just fell apart....
Sunderland's win today drags Norwich right into it, and Stoke and Villa.
I remember a few weeks back Stoke wer 22-1 to go down, now 7/2 (were about 8-1 before today)
Wigan are the favourite to go down of those with a chance, but I think it's Stoke who are in being trouble.
1 point out of their last 21 does not bode well.
It was a definite penalty I thought. To be fair to the lineman, if he has seen it from 40 yards and makes the right call, well done. Not his fault the ref is too blind to see it from a lot closer. If Hughton has a gripe, it should have been about the award of the corner in the first place.
Just saw this now - http://www.independent.ie/sport/socc...-29255664.html
Canaries goalkeeper Mark Bunn is also keen to join the Irish cause, although it is thought unlikely that Trapattoni will leave out any of his preferred trio – David Forde, Keiren Westwood and Darren Randolph – barring injuries.

Is it not the case that Bunn didn't have the relevant paperwork in order to play competitively?
Bunn's Irish qualification is constantly stated as being through his father and grandmother. Does this mean that his father was born in Ireland., as well as his maternal grandmother? Or is it, quite simply, that his paternal grandmother was born in Ireland and, subsequently, the link is passed down through his father rather than being originally derived from his father? I'd go for the second. In which case, the media could simply state he qualifies through his grandmother, as is the norm.
Randolph is involved in a tug of war between Birmingham and Burnley, it appears. I'd like to see a stronger Championship side become involved in that particular battle before the window's end.
Forde was good in the last qualifiers. The jersey is his to lose. I can envisage Randolph and/or Westwood getting a run against Georgia but Forde is likely to be between the sticks against England and the Faroe Islands.
Injury permitting, Trap is unlikely to bring Bunn in for one of the other 3.
Yes if things get too hot Bunn is the sort of player who could suffer from burn out,
as happened when King Alfred managed Norwich.
Norwich safe now, looks like Wigan are doomed unless they can win their final two matches.
But a draw and a 10-0 win might also do it for them.
What do you mean Bunn could suffer burn out?
He should only be brought if Trap considers him a contender for competitive games over the next year or two. Forde, Westwood and Randolph in particular have little experience of international football, and another keeper should only be brought in if he is legitimately thought of as a contender.
Just a joke really referring to King Alfred burning of the cake (ie Buns).
Here is the full story
No wonder his armies were defeated if he could not do a simple task like that without screwing up.Quote:
KING ALFRED AND THE CAKES
[5] MANY years ago there lived in England a wise and good king whose name was Alfred. No other man ever did so much for his country as he; and [6] people now, all over the world, speak of him as Alfred the Great.
In those days a king did not have a very easy life. There was war almost all the time, and no one else could lead his army into battle so well as he. And so, between ruling and fighting, he had a busy time of it indeed.
A fierce, rude people, called the Danes, had come from over the sea, and were fighting the English. There were so many of them, and they were so bold and strong, that for a long time they gained every battle. If they kept on, they would soon be the masters of the whole country.
At last, after a great battle, the English army was broken up and scattered. Every man had to save himself in the best way he could. King Alfred fled alone, in great haste, through the woods and swamps.
Late in the day the king came to the hut of a woodcutter. He was very tired and hungry, and he begged the woodcutter's wife to give him something to eat and a place to sleep in her hut.
The woman was baking some cakes upon the hearth, and she looked with pity upon the poor, ragged fellow who seemed so hungry. She had no thought that he was the king.
"Yes," she said, "I will give you some supper if [7] you will watch these cakes. I want to go out and milk the cow; and you must see that they do not burn while I am gone."
King Alfred was very willing to watch the cakes, but he had far greater things to think about. How was he going to get his army together again? And how was he going to drive the fierce Danes out of the land? He forgot his hunger; he forgot the cakes; he forgot that he was in the woodcutter's hut. His mind was busy making plans for to-morrow.
In a little while the woman came back. The cakes were smoking on the hearth. They were burned to a crisp. Ah, how angry she was!
"You lazy fellow!" she cried. "See what you have done! You want something to eat, but you do not want to work!"
I have been told that she even struck the king with a stick; but I can hardly believe that she was so ill-natured.
The king must have laughed to himself at the thought of being scolded in this way; and he was so hungry that he did not mind the woman's angry words half so much as the loss of the cakes.
I do not know whether he had anything to eat that night, or whether he had to go to bed without [8] his supper. But it was not many days until he had gathered his men together again, and had beaten the Danes in a great battle.
With Ruddy signing a new deal at Norwich, Bunn really needs to look for a move elsewhere. Hopefully he has learned from the benchwarming at Blackburn that it is more fun to play, rather than just observe. Even if it was at Championship level, he needs to join a club where he can establish himself as their no 1 goalkeeper.

Played the full 90 for Aston Villa last night and kept a clean sheet.
Bunn got a clean sheet for Villa today, his second in four appearances in January, conceding only one goal in each of his other games. This included saving a penalty and almost pulling off a brilliant double save against Leicester. If he keeps up this form, could he put himself into consideration for the Euro 2016 squad? Should he get a run-out in the upcoming friendlies?
No quotes, but this article suggests he's still interested in making the squad: http://www.thesun.ie/irishsol/homepa...-No1-spot.html
