Henderson got injured in his first or second game for Coventry and hasn't played since.
That was last year when he was at Preston, he got a nasty case of ankle knack that probably led to his being sold.
It turns out he and Henderson are just out of favour:
Quote:
Conor Henderson: “Conor’s career has been hampered by injuries but he’s somebody I like as a footballer – he’s athletic and he’s got great ability. He’s had a couple of cameos and it hasn’t really worked out for him yet so, again, it’s a case of trying to fit him into what we’re doing..
“I think the pace of the games surprised him a bit because you tend to think it’s quicker in the Premier League. It is in terms of thought, touch and passing, but it’s a different game – here they’re in your face, stopping you from moving so you need to know where you’re going with the ball.
“Given time he he’ll master that because he’s a really good footballer."
Adam Barton: “He’s a very good footballer, the sort of player you can build a team around, but at the moment it’s difficult to find a spot for him.
“He’s got a languid style which means that supporters sometimes think he’s not trying as hard as he could, but that’s the way he plays and he did particularly well in the Under-21 game at Leicester last week, finding space in the hole behind the striker.
“There are times when he’s got a touch of the Tommy Hutchison about him, although I wouldn’t want to saddle him with that comparison at Coventry!”

EDIT: Watkins-Clarke is from Bedford, not America. Don't know how i thought he was American
Watched young Anthony O'Connor (right) and Damien McCrory (left) both play the full 90 at full back for Burton tonight against Altrincham. Not much to report, both were relatively solid, but after the 3-3 draw at home in the first leg, I think Rowett wanted them to keep it tight at the back, so neither was attacking all that much at all. Too bad, because as I recall (might be wrong), O'Connor had some good attacking sense at the U19 World Championships. John McGrath came on late for Burton as well, which was apparently his first appearance since February.
Eoin Wearen has torn his cruciate and is out for the rest of the season: https://twitter.com/EWearen/statuses/269449757779443712

Watched Tranmere - MK Dons tonight. Not the greatest match in the world, but MK Dons featured Stephen Gleeson and Darren Potter in central midfield and Shaun Williams at centre half (was a bit surprised to see him there). Potter was pretty quiet for most of the game. Gleeson was all over the pitch and popped up with a late winner, just barely poking it over the line after a cross bobbled its way to him in the box. Williams did well at centre half and still took all of their set pieces. Otherwise, not much to report from a relatively boring match.
Posted in Jay O'Shea's thread that Conor Townsend signed with him on loan at Chesterfield: http://www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk/new...an-497808.aspx
From that article, referring to TownsendCan anyone confirm if Townsend is Irish? I can find no mention of him on the FAI's website and according to Hull's site he was born in EnglandQuote:
The 19-year-old Irish left-back played for Hull reserves alongside fellow Spireites loanee Liam Cooper in last month’s second-string match at the Proact.

was a little bored tonight, so I went through the history of Ireland games on soccerscene.ie to see who are the highest ranked teams defeated, and lowest ranked sides lost to by Irish managers in competitive games, by matching up the teams with the rankings on fifa.com
here are the results:
Code:Manager Highest Ranked Lowest Ranked
Team Defeated Team Lost To
Jack Charlton Italy(4) Austria(42)
Mick McCarthy Croatia(4) Macedonia(85)
Brian Kerr Georgia(84) Switzerland(44)
Steve Staunton Slovakia(37) Cyprus(103)
Giovanni Trapattoni Armenia(44) Russia(25)
Armenia - dear baby jesus
Jack was no mug!
But this says a lot about Trap......
Doesn't the draw in Paris count as a win for us?
Nope, FIFA counts the score at the blowing of the final whistle, which was 1-1.
this is the list of fixtures I used - https://sites.google.com/site/tetsujin1979/fixtures
Here are the averages of those figures ranked:
Jack: 23
Trap: 34.5
Mick: 44.5
Kerr: 64
Stan: 70
Does that indicate anything? To be fair to Trap, his "lowest ranked team lost to" record is a lot more impressive than the others'. Still, Armenia being our highest ranked team defeated is pretty lame.
not really sure what it indicates, Trapattoni has better results against lower ranked sides - never lost to a team ranked lower than Ireland
There was a piece in the Star about this lad : Personal information
Full name Shane Edward O'Neill
Date of birth (1993-09-02) September 2, 1993 (age 19)
Place of birth Midleton, Ireland
Height 1.88 m (6 ft 2 in)
Playing position Midfielder
Club information
Current club Colorado Rapids
spoke to noel king about playing for us
Interesting. Never heard of him. From wikipedia:
Quote:
O'Neill is eligible to represent both the United States and the Republic of Ireland. On October 9, 2012, O'Neill was called up by the United States U20 national team for the 2012 Marbella Cup in Spain.[3] A day later, O'Neill made his debut for the U20's in a 2-1 loss to Canada, however he suffered an eye injury that ruled him out for the rest of the tournament
seems to be a push on in the underage ranks to recruit US born players with Meara called into the U21s, and the two lads in the U19s?
There's only one of the 19s, as far as I know, and O'Neill was born in Ireland.
The article was actually about O'Neills brother trying to make it in the NFL ..

That's a good thing!
There are a lot of talented young kids in America who on the surface would appear to qualify for us. I'm at the point now where I'd advise any Irish kid to try any option other than England, and the US is slowly becoming an alternative. Ok the top Irish talent will still slavishly go to England but those middle of the road lads might want to try America.
Would love to see more Irish talent go to places like Sweden, Norway and Denmark
Aiden O'Brien has travelled with the Millwall first team for the last few weeks, and with James Henry suspended, the indications are he will be on the bench tonight against Wolves: http://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/art...ws-511443.aspx
Do we know much about him?
He's a bit of a stud from what I hear. Long face too.
Andy Keogh and Mark Yeates score for Millwall and Watford respectively.
Sean Maguire linked with a move from Waterford to west ham today
