Hope to God theres a decent link somwhere for thursday
Pity I'm stuck in Leitrim on Thursday. Playing a gig and have to miss the match. Whatever hope there is of picking up a signal anywhere else all hope is lost in Leitrim.
There's a little hope. Though it does depend on what part of Leitrim you're in.
Thankfully you're not gonna be in Roscommon because then I'd even fear your own personal return.
so as of tonight theres no tv coverage of the shamrock rovers game at all? I thought setanta were definitely showing the 2nd leg??
Its on Serbian TV, nicked this..

Links online for RTS1 that have been pretty consistent and very good quality:
mms://rts.videostreaming.rs/rts (works best playing through RealPlayer - Do a search and when the 'web' tab opens, copy and paste the link into the address bar)

Also(as previously posted),
Anyone with satellite, the settings are;
Frequency: 11,023.25 MHz
Polarization: Vertical (V)
The flow of symbols: 22 MSym / s
FEC: 5 / 6
And here's the guide how to do it from Digitalsat.co.uk;
Start by selecting: Services, 4 (System Setup), 4 (Add Channels).
This will get you to a menu with five Items on it
From the top item on the menu (Frequency GHz): key in the 5 digits for the frequency, ignore the decimal point.
Use the down arrow to move to the H / V setting. Use the left / right arrows to set the correct polarity.
Dont alter the Symbol Rate and FEC unless you know you have to. (For most channels you won't have to).
Scroll down to the Find Channels option, and press "Select"
Choose your channel(s), scroll down to each one you want, and press the Yellow button.
Press "Sky" to get back to the main tv channels (or "Backup" if you want to add more channels).
Press "Services", 6 (Other Channels), then scroll up and down the list until you find the one you want, then press "Select" to watch or listen.
To get back to the main tv channels at any point, press "Sky"
I dont have satellite, can someone confirm to me if the settings work? The guide is right, but I want to be sure of the settings and not leave any home-bound hoops stranded!!
Thanks
emailed Setanta today to follow up my email query of last week and its definitely not on.
Their offer for the game was refused.
Was going to email RTÉ about it, I mean. They could show Udinese v Arsenal... but I may relent now due to the volume of Heineken on the system.
Please note the addition of the following fixture to the Setanta schedules:
Thursday 25th August
Europa League play-off second-leg
Partizan (1) v (1) Shamrock Rovers (19:30)
Setanta Ireland (19:25-21:25)
Already scheduled but now on Setanta1:
Thursday 25th August
Europa League play-off second-leg
FC Sion (0) v (0) Celtic (19:30)
Setanta1 (19:15-21:45)
Deadly.
All the Celtic fans will have to go to the pub now :(
Setanta Ireland have confirmed they are showing Partizan Belgrade v Shamrock Rovers tonight at 7.30.
Now, can any if ye figure out a way of me justifying getting out of this wedding early enough to get to see the match.
I've established that I'm leaving after dinner. Now, I've to watch it without making out that that's the only reason I'm leaving. Oooooooooh sneaky.
This has Drogs/Kyiv written all over it. Can't wait.
Nope. That won't work. Under 2 hours now. Come on lads.
Yeah. None of it worked. Cnuts!
Going to be a bit of Rovers on 3e now...
An emotional Roche was struggling to take in the enormity of what Michael O'Neill and his players had achieved in the heat of the Serbian capital.
"Hopefully now, people will take everyone in Irish football -- and not just us -- seriously," said Roche, who was part of the group of fans who saved Rovers from extinction back in 2005.
"Clubs like Celtic and Rangers have gone out tonight while Shamrock Rovers are still in and representing Irish football.
"It's a massive night for the club and hopefully we can kick on from this. I think the league gets unfair criticism at times -- not from print media -- but a lot of other media that covers Irish football. Look at before this game. It wasn't going to be on TV until Setanta did it at the last minute.
"But, to be positive, it's unbelievable. We're going to Monaco tomorrow for the draw."

You do realise that 3e is part of of the TV3 Group and that TV3 already had the rights to the Europa League? Not to mention the fact that the rights are now far more valuable than they were originally. They will now have the responsibility of being the host broadcaster (having to produce it themselves and provide a feed for overseas companies), but they will come out the other end a good bit better off.
The Rovers games will probably be very well advertised and shown on TV3.
I'm constantly amazed how many people don't understand TV rights
I'm aware of all that. I was just looking to highlight how that network have shown little interest in Irish football? With their right to the EL, while obviously not part of the deal, I just think they should have shown some interest in Rovers play-off games. The game in Belgrade was an historic might.
Two LOI games on one after another on tv.
This must be what its like when doves cry.
Do the teams get payment anymore for Live Games.
are you 100% sure !!!
wasn't it 5k a game or something
€3000
So 200-300 tickets. I wonder if it's worth it.
Going to games is far better than watching them games on TV. Having the games on the box is good for the games profile. I'd imagine the hope is that the strategy will pay off in the long-term. Aren't the number of live games supposed to ramp up to the point where there'll be a game shown every week?
No.
There was a fund that clubs qualified to share based on a certain numbers of matches being shown live on TV. If I remember correctly last season this was €50k which was not paid out, as the FAI retrospecively changed the qualifying criteria so no club got any payout. In others words the FAI simply cancelled this.
AFAIK the FAI have been more upfront this season and simply canceled this fund from the outset.
That's shocking and a slap in the face to the clubs concerned.
Cork City v St Pats in the FAI Cup is going to be live on RTE.
