At least for once the league made an EARLY sensible decision in postponing all the league games with the adverse weather conditions.
No premier league games next weekend Dec4/5th due to Oscar traynor playing away to Kilkenny Sunday at 2pm.
Saturday morning was not early, i felt everyone knew that the weather was going to get worse on saturday and games should have being postponed on friday afternoonQuote:

Fai cup 5th rd draw- mixed views on the draw for our 2 remaining representatives in Fai junior cup -
Carrick away to Broadfrord United(limerick desmond league) and winners of Crystal/Tramore away to Cavan Town or Corduff fc (from blanchardstown Dublin who beat Ballymun 2-1 in round 3.)- Gud luck to both Waterford sides !
id expect carrick to get result of broadford, if corduff knocked out ballymun they must be fairly handy but you gotta beat the best if you wanna progress in this competition so crystal/tramore just have to lift it for this one

Intermediate Cup games. Only Fixture left still on is Munster Senior Cup
3rd Rnd, Leeds v Carrick Utd, scheduled for Sunday at 2pn in Leeds Park.
FAI Intermediate Cup games are rescheduled for next weekend 11/12th
December.

Carrick were about 10 minutes from Cork City today when they were told the Leeds pitch was unplayable (Munster Senior Cup) . Given the road conditions this is poor form indeed. I know the Carrick lads stopped several times on route awaiting news as to the status of the game. They were told at 1pm (kick off 2pm) that the game was off, shabby indeed. Why was this game not called off on Friday like all other games in Cork, and why o why did Leeds not get their pitch inspected before Carrick traveled. Will Leeds have to travel to Carrick now
I have no problem for any club waiting until the morning of a game to get their pitch inspected, but there is no excuse not to give ample notice to the travelling team before they set off on an unecessary journey.They should be forced to foot the bill for Carricks travelling expenses if this was the case.
Carrick United were not treated very well Leeds at the weekend and some sort of recompense should be forthcoming given the way matters were handled by the Cork club.
Focus changes now to next Sunday and another away trip, this time to Broadford. It promises to be good cup tie. Is there many travelling?
The broadford united lads and club are a nice bunch of lads and I'm sure they would let carrick know the day before if the the field was not playable due to frost.. They have a great set up with a great field and dressing rooms.. One of the best in the league

yes we have injuries and suspensions, but we have to deal with them as they come, the lads did not play well yesterday but we are still thru to the next round which is the most important fact of all, plenty of clubs ala killester and fairveiw would love to be in the next round without playing well.Quote:

Ye were better than us and deserved to win alright but the reason ye struggled to put us away is coz we were organised disiplined and hard working with a particular plan and it nearly worked. We enjoyed having ye tho, some good humorus banter with ye're fans and nice to see ye wernt in a rush home after the game. What do ye think of our ground COVE PARK? Heard there was a great night in the Granville Hotel at the launch of 'Blow It Up Ref' on Friday December 10th. The book covers the history of all current and former junior league clubs in Waterford. An excellent compilation by Brian Kennedy.
Good read for Christmas!
So the book finally got launched.
Would anyone care to expand on contents.
Believe originally it was to be a history of Waterford League, but above post implies history of the town junior clubs.
Does it include details of past league winners ?
Also which retail outlets is it available from. Especially the main bookshop on the square.
It covers all clubs, county and city and I assume is available in places like The Book Centre in the city. It does'nt include all past league winners.Quote:
