Was At Carrig v Athea. You will do well to see 7 better goals in a game this season. Some absolute screamers and a goal from over 40 yards scored by Athea's John Cotter. Carrig got the winner 5 mins from time, Mike D O' Connor. Seanie King (2) and Francis Moore with the others. Cracking game
Was that a fair result? Were all the goals from open play?

Well done to St Bens who kicked off at home with a victory last Sunday and in particular how well and professional their pitch looked and fair play to them for charging Adm:€3 at the gate. Desmond league clubs should be charging admission for years. Why dont clubs do it? Charge €3 at the gate everybody, B teams pass the cap round. Its selling yourself short otherwise....

Nobody cares what the predictions of anonymous people are for the following weekends matches.
ah lads at least its something been wrote on the page. other than that there is sweet nothing. has there been any talk of anny transfers before the window closes in three weeks.
Does the transfer window stay open that late? No wonder there is no loyalty in soccer out here, fella's in a team off to a bad start can just jump ship and pick a different club thats doing well. Cant see any logic in leaving it open after the season has started
We all have Pseudo names on this "Western Gale" so we are all anonymous here technicaly anyway. Fire away though, its no big deal, see you in COVE PARK Sunday...
Go again
Any report on the Abbey/Shannonside game from Sunday, another good win for Shannonside.
St Bens are charging Adm:€3 to their games in Division 4. Why why why dont every other club also do it?
was talking to abbeyfeale manager gerry cronin on monday and he said abbey played well..went up 1-0 and then scored a own goal by john kelliher and shannonside got the winner with 10mins to go..abbeyfeale scored a goal but was disallowed but cant remember what he said for...good win for shannonside thou..
Transfer Gossip:
James Hickey out of Rathkeale - back to Adare possibly.
Adare to get two hurlers back. Conor fitzgerald (great footballer) and Aidan Rahilly (was with Ballingarry? When the won premier) in a bid to get season back on track.
div 1.
Garvey to leave Kildimo for City club.
Dara o'grady leaving Ballingarry.
Two losses in their clubs chances for division one. The title race should be very close.
Will U get over this horn U've got about clubs chaging supporters Draper, some do some don't it's up to the individual club. Personally I think a Div 4 Club charging is scandalous! Maybe pass a hat around like years ago, Maybe!!!!!! In general the standard has dropped over the last few seasons IMO even if facilities have improved. Charging is up to each club I'm not so sure it's such a great idea though...
I always thought that Western Gale was a Killeaney man and if he is I apologise for suggesting that they're a Div 1 outfit. What I don't really get is that nobody on this thread has commented on the FAI Junior Cup draw, or should it be on the other thread? Has anyone an opinion on the draw? Rathkeale v Askeaton in the 2nd Round could be the pick of the round.
I met an Abbeyfeale player today who remains mystified as to why their 2nd "goal" was disallowed. I also was talking to a Shannonside supporter who felt that they should have been awarded a penalty and a red card to an Abbeyfeale player. Different opinions from two guys who both were either at the game or played in it. Having said that the Abbey guy said they were very poor on the day, and deserved nothing from the game. Could Shannonside be a contender this year?
Some do some dont BoyBlue? About 2 clubs do it. I just think clubs should have more pride in their ever improving facilities and people have no problem giving €3 to support and it makes such a difference to clubs finances. Desmond league football is of equal standard to local GAA (obviously cos theyre the same players) and they charge for everything. Sorry if it sounds like I'm ****ein' on a bit about it but its something that annoys me, that soccer is not as highly thaught of as other sports.
