right I'm gonna start off the first rumour.
Dermot Judge to add steel to the midfield ;)
tut tut tut, rumours are not allowed, was looking at the pfai website at the players who are still available, but it has not been updated in a while as Gary Cronin and a few others afre still stated as being free agents.
I'm sure Eddie was on the phone straight after the game last night.
well i say he was in a meeting trying to get a few extra funds first before ringing anyone. Well hopefully he was.
I'm sure there will be a few new faces in place in time for thursday.
well if there is going to be new faces, hopefully there tall as well as good

Is the Mexican guy still with us? I can't even remember his name.
Yeah he was let go at the of last season
Fletcher gone to Arklow Utd
I was out for a run earlier and the team were down bray seafront running... Stephen Brennan and Gavin Whelan were with them.
I'd take Whelan back, wouldn't want Brennan though. He was useless last year and from talking to a lot of the players at the player of the year they don't think too highly of him either
Personally would be more interested in Brennan than Whelan but besides that our options at this stage will be fairly limited and any experience can only help.
Robbie Doyle available?? Desparate times and all that!!!!!!!!
Exactly we do need experience and Brennan did absolutely nothing to help on the youngsters last season. Every single player I talked to said Stephen Brennan was only looking after Stephen Brennan and had no time for him. Personally I wouldn't want a player who isn't liked in the dressing room unless he's dynamite on the pitch, and sure Brennan didn't seem to be match fit at any stage last season. Think the wages we've spent on him would be far better spent on someone who will lead by example like Daire Doyle does.
And to be honest I'd take Doyler back, would give us that bit of unpredictability that bar Franco (who it's still to be seen if he gets a proper go at it this time) the side lacks hugely
I'd love to see both the lads back at the club being honest, they both have great experience and are good pros and still have a lot to offer. Brennan IMO was our best passer of the ball last year plus he was played out of position in centre midfield so i think a bit of the stick he took was unfair.
Hopefully they are back.... wonder will they be involved tonight ?
I'd say there might be a few more faces coming in, well im hoping
Stephen was over weight but he is a good footballer. He was about the only player in midfield that could stop and pick out a player, he is also a good organiser. For all the work the Dave Mulchay & Chris Shiels put in at time they were both headless chickens. Stepehn Brennan is also an experience Premier Divison player, something that a young side will need.
Ger Rowe is still available :-), he would not get us winning a cup or league and getting into europe but he would surely get is into administration with the wages he demands.
Not a chance will he be back, left on very bad terms with the club, just like when he was with Shamrock rovers and i believe also when he left dundalk
still no new players announced yet, surely that 72 hour deadline is well expired.. or are we to go by the cork deadlines,, ah sure well give you another day or week..
What 72 hour deadline?
We can still sign players who are out of contract, there is no deadline on that.
the Brennan roumer might have some truth, he was at the match last night. Also head ex Rovers, Bohs and Shels player Mark O'Brien is training with us. Would be great to get him in !
I heard loads of roumers at the game last night, Dan Connor, Dessie Baker, Shane Robinson all mentioned along with about another 20 names ! :D
I'd definelty take Dan Connor, wouldnt be pushed with Baker or Robinson for that matter. Would depend on wages I suppose.
where is franco?? is he gone again?
Would've thought the three mentioned would be far too expensive for us to even contemplate signing. Unless they want a club and are willing to take a big hit in wages. Was Connor not strongly linked to Pats? Robbie Doyle seemed to be strongly mentioned in the rumours last night
Franco Still there, was talking to him and he is training away.
I really think that we need to sign at least 5 experienced players along the lines of those mentioned here.
I thought Stephen Brennan started last season well and then faded - he did pass well early on but then his form dipped. I thought the opposite of Mulcahy - started slowly but finished the season strongly.
Gavin Whelan was ok when he was with us but never really repeated the form that he had shown with Drogheda the previos season when he won the league.
We definitely need goalkeeper competition and an experienced striker aswell - Baker and Connor would fit the bill.
Have not been impressed with either keeper used in pre season but picking up a keeper of prem quality is going to be very difficult now. Id love to Dessie Baker come in both for his goal scoring ability and the experience he could give to our young strikers
Dont see any new names mentioned in the Drogheda match report?
