I'm watching the Faroes play Serbia. Have to say I'm extremely impressed with the way they're lined out. They're parking the bus, but they're chasing everything down and not giving Serbia an inch to play in. They've even had a couple of very decent chances on the counter-attack.
In my opinion, they've been the better team in the first half
Just as I say that, Serbia score!
Carrigaline, any chance you could PM me a link?

2-0 to the Serbs now... still not a bad performance.
unlucky brian, when do they france?
:rolleyes::mad:Givens will never be sacked
and the U/19s while he is at it..
ship has sailed there though unless there is a change at the top which is not going to happen any day soon.
I see the next game is in the middle of August .. wonder could they catch off guard coming back from holidays etc.
Might mosie on down to the Prater in September if it doesn't clash with Ireland match .. and cheer on the Faroes.
I see that The Faroes only lost by one goal to France tonight:

Fair play, Brian's clearly teaching these guys something positive...
Bear in mind it's the Faroe Islands we are talking about. How many goals do they usually score in internationals?
Saw the first half of the game and the Faroes were unlucky to be one goal down at the break. Very well organised and compact. However the French will never score many goals with the way they play.
Absolutely, I think it's 100% the right tactic for them (Fareo's), they'll snatch the odd 0-0 and maybe even an occasional 1-0 which is all that can be expected.
France are hugely over-rated and have been for a few years now, even our semi-famous 0-0 in Paris we really should have won
they must be all under 20 years old for him to be doin this well.
Faroes 1-1 at home to Lithuania. They took the lead in the 15th minute. But Lituania got one back after 23 minutes.
Go on Kerr! :D
Faroes 2-1 up now! Hansen on 35mins.
2-1 faroes now!
kerr for Ireland :o
Wow, fair play! Ok I'd be damned curious to watch highlights of that match & see how Kerr's team play
last few minutes here AMaccann

huge result for the Faories and Kerr if it stays at 2-1 - best in their history?
fair enough.
theyre celebrating it like it matters though!! Huge roar from the crowd and full time 2-1 for Faroes. (Lithuania had Bohs hero Mindu Kalonas in the team).
Fair play to Kerr.
Kerr will be up with the Fairies later on.
The sound dropped off for most of the post match interview but it was easy to see the sheer delight on his face.
Nice interview with him there at the end. I guess as manager of the Faroes thats as good as it can get really.
Having said that, while Kerr's in charge I'd rather avoid them in future qualifying groups, could be a disaster waiting to happen.
ya but kerr is smart, he is using it as a stepping stone, its his next step up to a mediocre european team or league and then if he does well in that its his way in to top(er) management tier.
Kerr for Kazakhstan!!!
Fair play Kerr.
Well done Brian Kerr, delighted to see him doing well. Folk hero in the Faroes now.
Good on him. I bet he has a sore head this morning!
I did smile when I saw the result last night , well done to Brian I am sure he had a good night .
The man has talent. I'm hoping that he can get step up to a Sweden/Denmark/Hungary type job and have some major success with them .. before becoming almost impossible to resist for the FAI. (One Pats-Ireland fan's fantasy)
fair play brian, great to see him doing well. great result against a decent side.
yeah, well done Kerr.Great win. Lithuiania beat Romania 3-0 in Romania at the start of the campaign.
Is the Faroese equivalent of Joe Duffy or Marion Finucane calling him a "miracle worker" now?
I always thought Kerr was very unlucky to be turfed out when he was. His biggest mistake was going 4-5-1 when we went 2-0 up against Israel, but if we had held out for the 2-0 win he would have been a great man. Also, Israel's last minute equalizer against us didn't help either.
Delighted to hear when he got the Faroes job. If he picks up 4 points in a qualifying campaign plus a friendly win or 2 along the way they'll make him president. He is clearly using this as a stepping stone to further his managerial career and why not!! Fair play to him!!!
