You're welcome - best of luck with that

I am just happy that Drogheda United FC is still a football club, whatever division it maybe in, the main thing is that it appears it will be still in the League of Ireland.
I think he means that the entire episode was not good for the league, ie. the fact that they went into examinership in the first place.
Obviously, Drogheda getting out of it is a good thing on the whole.
He is just bitter becuase of the mess $hel$ got into and would love to see Drogs suffer more and be relegated, thats pretty clear from the messages.
This cycle has been going for decades. Teams just keep overstretching to win the league, anyone having a go at Drogs are complete hypocrits, what club with any sort of ambitition hasnt overstretched or been shafted by owners.
Does not seem a wide decision to pursue a Premier division licence on 250k annual budget. I can't see how United Park will get a licence for the Premier. Would seem more logical to use United Park in the first division than Oriel or somewhere else in the Premier.
They probably shouldn't get a premier licence but I hope they do. Can't wait for the Malone Cup meeting on Valentine's night now. :)
I can see there being a bit of ill feeling if the Revenue make things awkward for other clubs coming up to Licencing deadline. They should have objected really in the public interest and if the judge overrules them then fine. Not a go at Drogheda by the way but I know the Revenue certainly been demanding every last penny from clubs like ourselves.
I'm stunned that Drogheda escaped liquidation. A great Houdini act and congratulation must go to the fans who dug deep and bailed out their club.
All I can say is roll on the derbies!:D
drogs should be treated exactly like cork if one escapes relegation then so should the other. but if they both do then licensing wll be shown up for the farce it is.
Didnt Leeds do it when they where officially relegated and then got deducted 15 points the following season for doing it then!I know that was in England but the FAI should follow this!
Lovely interview with Vincent

So happy:D:D:D
a very good interview with hoey.. all his emotion came out of him.. i am delighted that they are still in football.. few of the crew that were behind hoey on the clip came down to flansiro for the sean prunty testinonial and that was well appreciated by the club..
it will take time but they will learn from the mistakes made...
Quite comical and this coming from one of the men who nearly destroyed the club!!how much did hoey or any of the other head officers in the club actually contribute to all the fundraising over the past 2 months can any Drog fan tell me?
Dont think so...
Probably just the accent...:D
I thought it was embarrassing.
It he wants to use a parallel with the Country as a whole, I think the example of how greed messed-up Ireland plc and Hinge Trading would have been more appropriate.
Learn from there mistakes. Are you joking?
This is the club that signed 5 English players at the end of the eddie may period without a means of paying them. Then they tried to walk away from their debts by folding Hinge Trading. Expect both Drogheda and Cork to make that exact same mistakes again and again and again. They'll never learn!
It will make the league look foolish and corrupt if drog end up in the prem division,it slaps the face of those clubs who run their tax affairs properly with the revenue hammering some clubs for tax deadlines for tax clearance certs yet the revenue let first cork and now drog away with tiny % of large sums of what was owed by these clubs ,the FAI have to look at this and make strong and proper decisions .IM sure some clubs today will say F**k the tax man lets all do what drog and cork did .
I am surprised they survived the examinership process but will be astounded if they get a premier license.
Can someone please tell me ...
Have any new investors come on board?
Are the same guys still running the show?
Has any money been put to help going forward as opposed to clear the debts?
Have all directors loans been wiped?
What is the new business model?
bhs
I really don't think I could ever defend the league again if Drogs are allowed in the Premier Division next season.
The only thing that should stop Drogs from getting a license would be the ground.
Whether you agree with the punishment or not(I think its too leniant myself) they were already punished for examinership.
There is no cause to punish them again.
if anything it shows the need to change the rule and possible make it automatic relegation for entering examinership, but as it stands there is no such rule
FAI are gonna smudge the ground issue by pledging development work according to today's papers.
I am delighted Drogheda survived, but I feel it would not be right for both them and Cork to be in the premier. And I honestly would feel the same regardless of any potential impact on FHFC.
But we got our punishment already. Thats just the way it is, like it or lump it. Personally I dont like it either but thats the f*ckin stupid country we live in. As adamd164 said above you the only thing that stands in our way of a premier licence now is UP. And it looks like the work will be done to upgrade the kip!
One of the reports in the paper said their wage budget for next year will be E300k. The Droda Indent (as quoted on the Drogs forum) said their budget was down from E500k. I assume that was as a result of the judge's comments last week, in which case, the only alternative was to go out of business.
There's hard times ahead for Drogs though. With that budget, they'll be down the bottom half of the Premier, probably fighting relegation, and if so, you'd imagine crowds will drop from what wasn't a very high figure to begin with. Can see Drogheda going back to being a yo-yo club, to be honest.
They did, but you're missing the point (as well some punctuation other than an exclamation mark). Leeds went into administration when relegated knowing the ten point penalty was irrelevant. Other clubs did this too. Only in this instance does the penalty now carry over. I don't remember the final table, but Drogs' penalty possibly cost them Europe, and probably at least one place in the table, resulting in loss of prize money.Quote:

The FAI cannot be seen to impede any club's licensing requirements, and as such, the Association is expected to upgrade, or at the very least assist in upgrading United Park to the Premier Division criteria, having already sent officials to the Boyneside stadium in the off-season to discuss possible arrangements if the club were to survive.
New investors? Dont think so!
Same guys? F*ckin looks like it. In the background at least
Money? Yeah theres money there to run the club
Directors loans wiped? Yeah
Business model? Part time, scaled down, hopefully realistic.
Bring on the relegation battle. I love a good relegation battle!
Would it come across as bitter to point out that Doolo had done a Doolo and jumped ship to avoid a relegation battle?
It was bitter from the moment you mentioned the word "Doolo".
He's never been relegated, you know.
Me too. And i have absolutely no problem with that! Just happy to be alive!
There was very little difference with our crowds from being near the bottom of the table to being near the top so I dont think thats a very big issue for us.
The FAI don't own Cobhs ground.
