The BBC said it had been rearranged for Tuesday night.

No, because last night would have been 15 hours before the match and a lot could happen in the meantime. Pitch inspections have to be made close enough to the game almost by definition. It's annoying, but there's no way around that, and I don't know why people keep getting annoyed about it.Quote:

Ford FAI Cup tie switched to Brandywell
The Ford FAI Cup Fourth Round tie between Kildare County and Derry City has been rescheduled for the Brandywell on Tuesday, August 19, at 7.45pm. The match has been switched to Derry because Station Road is unavailable on Tuesday night.

Heh, "unavailable." Couldn't have worked out any better for Kildare in the circumstances, good thing no jobsworth at the FAI threw a spanner in the works of a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Financially for Kildare, a game at the Brandywell is probably what they really need right now and obviously Derry wont complain.
