Just because you haven't seen me doesn't mean that I wasn't at the matches... get the facts right first plz.

Before you go spouting off, go ask the clubs what budget they were given to do promotions..., because I have no ****ing budget, I use a shop that's for sale, 5 road signs sponsored and 4 that weren't paid by the club, match posters are done by myself, & 1 person to put them out when he turns up. We have a supporters club which is made up of supporters club members, who number about 20 at most & they are tied up with what they do. And as you well know Luka when it comes to being organised it's allways very handy to have one or two people helping out with something that you are trying to do...
It ****ing beats me too Luka when someone like you that is involved with the club, go on this forum spouting ****, and others speak about Hendo as if the guy has done **** all, most of you have been to all the games and you have seen the amount of ****e luck the team has had, yes some need to put there hand up & admit there not up to the Premier Division, but I wonder how many Bohs, Pats or City players must first put in a days work & then go training, using up holidays etc so they can travel to away games. As for the Sunderland game those on the commitee gave up there free time( & some more) to get that day sorted, and they done a bloody good job, It's very easy to sit behind a keyboard and be judgemental. Bet ya if I asked for volenteers to do stewarding on Sat night how many would turn up?? The very same few all the time.
So Luka maybe you might like the CPO role, work on your todd, with no money to do anything & see how far you will go;)
sorry now what aload of bull, you get paid ,easy to slag people off as far as i know luka does site for free, and it is an easy target to pick on volunteers who give up free time.
Luka has been doing and excellant job with the site, PA, and other stuff, thats not the point, the point he made was about promotion & why we cant do what everyone else does, answer is simple really, people don't give a **** about the club. Where are the thousand or so fans who went to Athlone, or have you ever seen local people pass the ground on match night & ask how the game is going but not bother to step inside and see for themselves? There is only so much you can do on the cheap/free. Derry are in town this w/end & where will everyone be .... in the pubs.
and is there some initiative being undertaken to draw the people out of the pubs????????..................NO!, typical Ramblers!:(
This is the first time in years that Rams have had a home game the weekend of the regatta and luckily in my opinion we are playing against the team with the best travelling support in the league and they will come down here, they will spend money and add an extra atmosphere to the regatta and to the match. Not to mention the fact that the Derry team will probably stay over night too.
Once again this club miss out on a potential money spinner and then people wonder why were broke and begging members for €2000!
All we needed was one hook that could drag the people up from town for 90 mins but what do we do instead???.................we sleep!
The match is on Saturday, that means there's 4 days to think of something that could drag in an extra punter or two!
Any ideas???- I was thinking of something along the lines of a match ticket + 2 free pints?
Luka vs Marco, in a ring, 3 rounds, all funds raised go to the club, now there is a fundraising idea!!!!!
Here we go. Tippy -Toeing around again. My intention wasn't to have a go at anyone particular person and I don't have time to comment on these issues now as I'm running out the door and have to be somewhere at 9. Get a life Marco FFS. The whole World is not against you and you should try to read between the lines before having a dig at me. Less dramatics I say. Less dramatics.
Are ye all mad?? Why the **** are ye all havin a pop at each other?? Marco and Luka both do heaps towards the club and deserve nothin but praise for it. Marco is given a budget and has to work within it - it doesn't matter how many good ideas he has if doesn't have the funds to implement them. And Luka does his bit for nothin.
If anyone has a problem with promoting the club, get down there and get to work on it yerselves, or put up the cash to let Marco get on with it. Don't be coming on here havin a dig.
Our problems are apathy and image. The average Joe in town will sit on a bar stool and talk/bitch about Ramblers all night but will only show up once a season at most. Meanwhile, there are a few lads tryin to keep the ship afloat while the name of the club is dragged into the dirt by childish politics and bitchin caused by a small minority who can't face the fact that they're not in charge any more. The Supporters Club barely even exists! (I know the work they do is very valuable but it ain't a proper Supporters Club, so please change the name)
I can't give answers to the problems, some of them relate to personal/family vendettas that go back decades. Maybe the club needs a whole new start to modernise it - new constitution, shareholders, Board of Directors (not a committee!!), new image, full-time General Manager, god forbid even a new name!! Anything to rid us of the bull*** that's held us back so long...
Aye no point arguing with each other lads as I don't think there's a right and wrong in this. Can see both your points but as has been said, there's only so much Marco can do within his budget and without man power. Luka made a decent point about utilising the website more, surely that can be taken on board though...
Here's an idea right. Because the Club CPO's budget is so small to operate as effeciantly as other clubs them why not organise some sort of fundraiser(s) to generate cash towards helping the CPO operate more efficiantly. It can't be that hard to organise something, I mean we already have a large enough venue for it. I'd be willing to give my time to help organise something.
i think there are bigger issues we need to prioritise at the moment.
It really depends on which way you look at it Bella. If the CPO has funds to perform more efficiantly then naturally he would be in more of a position to attempt to being in more people to games. I'm not in the know when it comes to the Club's financial matters because quite frankly it's none of my concern. I was informed we were all getting a letter about the €2000 thing. I'm still waiting, but the point I'm making here, or trying to make, whichever way you look at it is, the CPO needs funds. Should a cut of the Sunderland finances be afoarded him? I don't see why not or cut the CPO's job altogether and put that wage to use in other areas, but who promotes the Club then? I really don't see anyone doing his job for free do you?
God no, i just feel myself at this moment in time there is more important things we need to spend money on.
Getting the house in order being no.1 IMO.
Agree 100% with you. The house needs to be put in order from the top right down. People need to realise what their actual role is at the club by my saying 'do it' I mean do it correctly and stick to it. If people can't perform then goodbye. That's my attitude anyway.Quote:

How many of you on here knew before I drew attention to this that Marco has naff all of a budget to work with? Not many I bet. Issue like these need to be brought out, dealt with correctly and closed out in a proper manner that enables all to move forward with the best intentions of the club at heart. It's all very well for us to natter about it here but does anyone actually take any notice of the good things and ideas that are spoken about here or is it the usual case of, 'Nah. I'm not going with that 'cause I didn't think of it' attitude.
it comes back to forward thinking, bar manager, cpo and press officer should be one person and one wage , its not man u surely one man/woman could cope with work load, one wage instead of 2/3 and immediately then you remove the "thats not my area " crap, one man one voice and one person who can be held accountable
I think we all knew because he has said it here on numerous occasions.
I think the attitude you speak of is slowly fading away too, people are coming together to work hard and raise cash for the club.
But back to what we we discussing i just feel, and its only my opinion that there are more important things at the moment that we need to put money into than the CPO side of it.
total nonsense RF, how in gods name could one person do those three jobs, maybe you could link the cpo with the press job but then putting in the bar manager is not feasible due to the nature of that kind of work. If you did mix the 3 jobs you would have someone working 90 hours a week at least, press officer not paid by the way and she is doing a damn fine job IMO
Oh that she is, totally voluntary, prob hasnt received one pat on the back, gets no credit at EGM/AGMs and so what. Were lucky she not in it for the praise or spotlight or she'd be well gone. Having seen her at work i'd have nothing but praise for her. BTW before ye start i know nobody was questioning her, just when i seen the role mentioned thought she deserved a bit of praise.:)
