Tesco selling them for 40 notes is a great price , checked the one in arthurs quay at 6 but they had sold out at 9 30 am !!! said they should have more tomor i know i have it ordered all ready but for 40 euro i could have bought it played it untill mine arrived then traded it and got 40 back.
hate the start of it, no money no guns no cars, everything doom and gloom, roll on when im runnin the joint, tough to get used to driving again
Not a fan of the new driving controls, maybe the PS3 are the same, but you have to use the back triggers on 360!

Went to Smyths yesterday , with a imported copy of Rainbow six vegas 2 that i never played and tiger woods 2007. I got RSV2 for 40 euro and tiger is worth about 7 euro trade in but with there 2 games get this one free i got GTA4 in a straight swap.
At first i was hugely dissapointed the graphics are quite poor the city blurs in the distance! why do this the PS3 can hadle it and when you move everything goes weird cars and people are poorly done , when you go into a shadow even in day you cant see anything. with a lot of messing around with in game and tv brightness and contrast etc . i got somewhere. still quite messy did anyone actually play the game from rockstar ? after i pause it, it could come back allmost black and white then i pause it again and then its got so much colour you cant see anything !!! Any one else getting these problems.
But i guess a city that size is hard to get super good so i said ill let it pass and see what its like to play
Then the fighting is still terrible , press x to duck !! i press x he stands there getting stabbed in the face.
But after the initail dissapointment it started to pick up a bit , got a few missions in got a gun shooting is very good this time. Driving is good apart from some long skids when breaking fast.story is starting to build and im enjoying it.
Only 2 hours in but if it keeps getting better it will be great but its far from a 10/10 that some reviews are giving it. far too many problems with it this early in at the moment id give it 8/10 . But that could go up or down once i get a good bash off it.
I'd say you need a new TV tbh,the motion blur is quite well done,Can you actually see buildings and lights perfectly at 170 MPH? I think not. The shadow's are done quite well for the game.I wasn't expecting Assassin's Creed type shadow's,its only a very small part of the game anyway..Quote:

The pausing thing again ive never had a problem with any other game on the PS3. but as i say im still messing with settings so i might get it . Lots of people are complaining about it being too dark.Just make the shadows lighter why make it that dark . I shouldnt have to adjust the settigns at all as the TV as a special Game mode developed for gaming and is perfect for every other game. to have to mess around 10 -15 times in 2 hours because you literally cant see is irritating.
8/10 is a high score for me im highly critical of games that dont push the limits and after COD4 every game needs to be aiming that high if not better.
COD4 on console is distinctly average compared to the PC version(assume you own a top of the line PC) Its where COD4 won the vast majority of its awards.COD4 is pretty,the majority of the COD series fans said it was a half step up from COD2(PC). But I still can't see this Blur affect,what did you expect?To be able to see 10000 meters down the road?I'd say you can barely see 1000 metres(unaided of course) let alone 10000.But then again I can't see this apparent bluring affect,although I'm playing it on the 360.Quote:

and id say that lads HDTV isnt all that great! havin HDTV dont mean its gonna measure up to most games!
The only HDTV that counts is Full HDTV with 1080i/p anything else is just a waste of HDTV and isn't worth your money,Assassins creed on full HD was amazing in fairness, GTA doesn't set its stall as a Graphics only game which is great because it becomes dated fast,but it does have some nice graphics in fairness
Im changing my score pushing it up to 9.7 still doesnt get 10 as there is some issues but they are fairly small in comparison to the good points the city is amazing when it rains its class its the tiny things that make it so impressive there is prob some tiny box or alley no one will ever see yet they spent hours on making it. the fighting doesnt matter when you get a gun. the story & voice work is top notch The cousin is hillarious.
I spent a good while making a brand new custom setting that has solved most of my lighting & scratching issues makes it look even better.
Go any where in the city up high look across the city buildings in the distance get blurry , its only small and id love to be able to lock the camera when driving i like to tilt it up a bit to see more of the road in front but have to hold the analog in place.
No high powered pc just consoles dont like PC gaming hate using a mouse for games , TV is a 1080i samsung

PC gaming is the most challenging of the gaming formats,if playing COD4 for example,it requires excellent hand-eye coordination to become good at it.
How far is everyone in the game? I'm just onto the last Island(without wanting to give too much away) Bought myself the Hitman suit(Black suit,white shirt,Red tie),although michelle hated it when she first saw it...

Never liked PC gaming other than sims ( champ manager sim city or C&C ) where a mouse is needed (all ways been a console junkie ). All ways found them to be full of super nerds that take it too seriuosly . Played quake i think it was and it was just retarded everyone was jumping around the place like idiots and you have some looser than spends his whole life playing it that kills you in a few seconds.Quote:
