It's been hard to support City the last few years when the team has been such a shambles for all the good work done off the pitch. City will never get a big following given hurling place in the summer but for those that do go, too often the players have been so far below a repectable standard so it's hard to keep coming each week. We don't expect to challenging at the top of the table but a competitive side is all we'd ask for each week to boost interest in City, Pat Scully's team is the only one to offer this in the last few years.
I don't want to harsh on City because it wouldn't be right without them in the league, especially after the great memories most notable in the 96/97 campaign when we unbeaten at home for the season, a year that included Richie Hale going on a scoring blitz when the Hale-Bopp comet was in the sky (8 goals in 5 games I think), a year that gave us so many legends, but things had to come to a head as continuing as we have done for the last few years isn't viable.
