Hodgson would be a gr8 man 4 the job gr8 european experience but i am afaird he is gone bk to inter to take up a cosy directors role of the muck that is on that list i would go for hoddle or houlier if 'el tel' or 'big racist ron' becomes manager it will be the death of irish international footie, beyond that i cant see too many candiates who stand out it's a job that has little appeal to a top class manager
He has clearly said that the door is open for an approach but hinted that it'd have to come before January. I'm sure it's quoted a few times on this site.
It all points back to whether the committee are making approches to who they consider worth talking to or not.
If they are "sounding out" - how do we know Hodgson has not been contacted within the last few days?

No mention in the interview of the Ireland job
