No worries Doc, anytime. I assumed it was drug-induced waffle rather than overwork. Personally I just post tosh all the time, it's easier that way.;)

From the 4 games ive seen Rovers play this season their is not one player from Rovers who come near the squad, bar Murphy in nets that is. The rest of the squad is average, wins have come from trying to destroy games and from their fitness levels, not from skill or real class. But as mentioned, Murphy would be my choice for Keeper, outstanding talent.
Don't agree, when they came to us they at least tried playing football i.e. on the ground. Haven't quite got the players to pull it off but at least Scully has them going about it the right way. Only ones to seriously rattle our 3-5-2 up to then, Dodge'll remember pointing out at the time how they were doing so.
Maybe a wee bit too cavalier though - leaving three up for a corner and no-one on the post when you're 1-0 down against Set Piece Athletic means you'll soon find yourself 2-0 down. :)
I dont think Mooney will be moving on.
Baz is head and shoulders above any keeper in either divisons, how many other keepers will keep clean sheets at Cork, and twice at Drogs this season?Quote:

Apart from the two games v Bray (which would be far from our best performances this season btw but still took the 6 point thany you very much) I'm intrigued to know what the other game was (assuming the third was the Derry game live on TV?), having seen every game this season even taking off the Rovers tinted glasses to just dismiss the quality Ger O'Brien, Baz, Rowe & Purcell have shown this season and put our results this season down to 'destroying' games is baffling!!
Against the top sides we've played decent on the deck football & this has started to get results, against the lower sides we've been dragged down to a different level (a frustrating weakness of ours i must admit) the performances vs Sligo, Bray & Longford sping to mind, though to our credit we have on each occasion managed to still pick up the points!! Defending btw is a skill, and can be a classy one at that!!
The defending i refer to is the limiting of chances to the opposition despite them having more of the ball, it doesnt include stamping on a players foot & breaking a bone btw!!

Not answering the question. :rolleyes:Quote:

My Post - Baz is full time.
Hibs4Ever - A penalty should be converted at any level but he saved one against the gypos in the cup too.
Baz, Tadhg, Ger O'Brien, Detser and Aidan Price have all made the step up with amazing ease and while the continued under-rating of Rovers is a wee bit annoying long may it continue.

Under-rated??? People are fawning all over your manager and team, can't understand where the "under-rated" tag comes from. Obviously you prefer being under-rated, but at the moment, you aren't. It's quite the opposite at the moment, and going into the second set of games, you have to live with it. Giving Rovers 3 points for the Waterford game and they're a top 3 team. I can't see anyone treating them as anything other than that. Who exactly is "under-rating" Rovers?
Some of them don't even consider Pats contenders and we're top so I wouldn't let manager speak worry you. Player for player I'm not sure I'd take any Rovers player ahead of any pats players (and yeah I know I'm 100% biased) so its not that hard to see why none were picked in the various eL selections. I'm fairly certain you have a miles better manager though
Exactly. Rovers didn't drop points. They got the job done against Bray, no surprises there. Rovers were the big winners of the last round of fixtures and are joint-third (outright third once they fail to lose to Waterford) on merit; do you want each manager to give a round-up of each team's performance every week in their 90 second interview slot?
I'd certainly take Purcell. Mind you I'd also take Gary O Neill. We badly need a propper partner for Crowe.
