I use that as a figure of the costs for any player with a good job who is well settled in life, mortgage bills to pay etc.
It's not a bad reflection on the league, it's more a result of life in Ireland today.
Some of these lads are building up buisness's and what happens when at 32ish they have to give it up. THe money is not like in other big leagues were then can build up a nice nest egg. no more play = no more pay, then its too late to start from stracth again.
I'm sure somebody would take him on part time if he's good enough. That way he keeps his job/business whatever plus gets more money from football. Most of our squad are in the same position!
