In fairness, thats a bit of a childish attitude. For all you know they play on Thursday because there could be triple the amount of young troublemakers around on a Friday!! Should Sligo be forced to revert to Friday too?

With respect it is not a childish attitude. League games should be on fridays saturdays and sundays.
Derry used to play on thursday nights until they copped on. Away crowds vanished.
IMO fridays should be for derbies only. And saturday nights should be the regular night. Harps, Kilkenny and Sligo have the right idea. Having said that clubs love their friday nights and while it is hard on away fans its a damn sight easier than thursday nights.

Is Friday night the norm at Dundalk, Finn Harps, Sligo Rovers, Longford Town, Kilkenny City, Cobh Ramblers?
How many derbies do Galway, Cork, Waterford, Limerick, Monaghan, Derry, Drogheda, Athlone have between them?
It's well known when I think games should be played, but football in the LOI is a 4-day weekend, from Thursday to Sunday. Football worldwide is a 7-day a week game, every club has floodlights and can play when they like.
Well Galway-Athlone is a derby match and to a lesser extent Galway-Limerick.All teams play on a Friday night.
Galway-Sligo-Saturday night and its alot easier to get a crowd there but we actaully prefer having the Athlone game on a Friday night.Prefer Friday's in Terryland and in general most games.Saturday's are ok but wouldn't like to give every second one of them up to travel either.
