All season long there has been a string of f**k ups conflicting the "positive" messages of "building for the future" that has eminated from club statements. We were excited by the arival of a chairman with money and the possibilities that could bring for the club, as well as the messages coming from the club...ground improvement, proper coaching staff at all levels of the club, a five year plan for success etc etc etc. Well where are we now after one season? We will have to rebuild the squad again, we've lost our coaches, the ground's a disgrace, we were painstakingly poor on the pitch where it matters the most (blame for this lies with our cardboard cut-out of manager), we're probably going to loose finnucane, barrett and mcgrath aswell as the shambles surrounding Robbie kelleher and whats the good news here?? WE"VE GOT FOUR MORE YEARS OF THIS S**T. One of two things should happen here, either drew and noc leave the club and yes we're screwed for a while but at least we can shrug off this false dawn once and for all, or drew stays and takes a step back out of the spotlight and does his job and let noel do his....at the butchers. A new manager for the club, a realistic vision of where the club goes from here, a quiet chairman that does his work behind the scenes for the betterment of the club, proper coaches, ground improvement, promoting the club thoughout limerick and the country, no more bulls**t, no more slagging matches with supporters, no more confrontations with players, no more meddling, no more lies. Until or unless that happens lads we're going to be on the site forever lambasting the next f**k up as it quickly follows the last. Big things need to happen between now and the start of next season or drew won't be left with many choices at all. I can't see Hogan Park swelling with blues supporters next season if its simply more of the same, and i can't see drew hanging around while the club falls flat on its face because of him.
joesoap these are not rumours i can assure you of that..
Once more the club reaches another low ebb, it should have done everything in its power to support Robbie. As already stated if his trial had been successful it would have only served to benefit the club with money and prestige. Noel had no problem voicing his opinion that Robbie was not good enough around Limerick, regardless if he is good or not, Noel should have supported his player. Of course Noel knows best. I read the story that broke one week later in the 'Star', the club naturally enough denied all accusations that they sabotaged Robbie's trial. We already knew that Robbie had no intention of playing under Noel next season and was ready to pack it in around the time Derek departed. Noel is a man to hold a grudge and we witnessed this throughout the season gone, so I suppose should we really be surprised that Robbie's chance was ruined?
Of course I should add that the majority of the players have more or less stated that they don't want Noel in charge. If Mike Kerley was to come calling I don't think that there is one player who would say no to him. It is quite evident that if Limerick are to progress then they need a more able manager than Noel, he isn't good enough at this level.
