Australia will be my second team because most of my mates here are Aussie. Man, they're over the moon with qualifying.Hope they can cause a few upsets!
Jamaica is alot smaller than NI.Quote:

I'll be looking out for any nation with an Arsenal player playing so i guess that's Switzerland, Sweden, Ivory Coast, France, England, Germany, Spain, Holland. ( i must admit however to drawing the line when it came to supporting Igor Stephanovs Latvia at Euro 2004!!)
For purely selfish reasons however, I hope they all play well but get knocked out early(ish) (preferably thanks to a mistake by a Spurs player! ;) ) so that they can have a little rest before the new season starts. we've a terrible record in season's following major championships and I don't want to hear the 'we are tired' argument again!!!
On a serious note though, I'd like to see Spain, Holland or England go far - someone different from the usual suspects like Germany, Argentina, Brazil or Italy.
Avery John, barring injury, will be gaurenteed a place in their starting 11 and has been for ages. So I'm up for them.Quote:

Reckon you spent too long in Reading, with the middle English lot.
There's an arrogance and attitude in your tongue that's certaintly not Cork!

I'll tell you one thing if that muppet Staunton gets the Irish job it will be a long time before we support Ireland in a world cup again He is definitely one of the ole ole brigade. It would be an absolute joke...Walsalls assistant manager! Also how could the players trust him after what went on in Saipan?
Ole ole brigade??? Explain that. He stood by his manager when someone decided that the WC wasnt for him:rolleyes:Quote:

Jamacia may be smaller in area but I'm sure the stat referred to population which is afterall what matters when having a choice of players.
NY Hoop, I thought that you as a loi supporter would have known what the ole ole brigade was. Essentially it is the sort of clowns who go along with the "a sure we'll give itv a lash" train of thought. Those very idiots who painted a pathetic picture after we lost the final Euro 2004 Qualifier singing you'll never walk alone, with scarves raised after one of the worst Irish performances in recent years. Its the shower who love to have singalongs with the Matt hollands of this world......ah yes. The FAI probably have Staunton lined up with Pat Kenny as his assistant...what a joke. I shall never look at one of our games if he gets the job JOKE JOKE JOKE
Believe you me I know well who the ole ole brigade are. Havent been to lansdowne in a decade because of them and dont miss it. But how is Staunton, an ex player, part of the ole ole brigade? He made his debut in 88 before the gravy train started.Quote:

He has no personality, he has learnt his managerial trade under Paul Merson at Walsall for God's sake and was one of the the most overrated players since the early Charlton era. Its sick. I suppose when he is sacked after failing miserably it will be Houghton's turn. Then Bonner, then Quinn, then Mcateet.....oh yes Jack's boys are still doing well.
This is by far the FAI's most ludicrous decision (if its confirmed-as now looks likely) in a lomg time
SICK SICK SICK
I bet Steven Carr is really regretting his decision to retire now
When Staunton fails, Quinn will probably get the job, then Mcateer, then houghton....oh Jack's lads Its a f***** sick joke
Keane and steven carr must be having some laugh now! why in the name of jaysus would you want to get involved in the Irish set-up now?
To play for your country:confused:Quote:

If I said that to you there'd be a huge debate about "Proper Irish" and all that 2G stuff. No need to worry about me. I'm comfortable enough with my Irishness to be able to embrace other cultures and nationalities.Quote:

I don’t agree at all with that. english clubs play in england, that’s just about the limit of their connection to the english national team. Most of the premier league clubs have as many non-englishmen as englishmen playing for them, many have non-english managers or even be owned by non-englishmen. Each club has time and time again shown that they don’t give a tinker’s cuss about the national team, but just their own selfish interests. Wimbledon even tried to move countries. england is a multi-cultural country with numerous different communities with lots of different loyalties, so even within england there are plenty who don't support the national side but are extremely loyal to their local community and team. I see no hypocracy in someone in Ireland supporting an english club side but not the english national team.Quote:
