They are no better or worse than a few other sides in this league, and that has been proved so many times when we play them. As for the their "gloden era", $hels have always been bottlers when the pressure is on. With the money they are spending now, the so-called "stars" they have to keep happy and Nuttsy's honeymoon well over, this is going to be a tough season for them. You can see how they cannot take any kind of a loss, or handle a team that stands up to their thuggery.

Well, any "slump" that $hels go into, if they do get a slump, would want to last a long time for it to come to sacking Nuttsy. He has just signed a new 4 (?) year contract, which means that he will be around for a long time yet.
It's a bit early to say that $hels have had a poxy start, 2 draws, 1 loss and a win is not that bad. Their side just hasn't gelled yet, and they will/should be the team to beat when they do click. They still won't be a side we should fear, however.

As for Dolan (I presume you meant him!) going to $hels, I can see him at any other club in the country, but not $hels. Not for a good while anyway.....;)

I am very disappointed with your comments. A loss is a loss, no two ways about it. It seems to me that you are another one of those so called shels fans who spend more time worrying about Dolan. There seemto be a lot of them around Tolka at the moment. I can't but wonder who you'll be suporting this year Shels or every team that plays limerick.
We were disappointing on the night and a loss is very disappointing but the only comforting factor about losing to cork was that it wasn't in the league. I'd feel the same way if Dolan was manager. Every shels fan should.

It has come to my attention that Cork fans are constantly obsessed with the financial situation.
Question: If roughly 6,000 fans show up for every home game and, as you all seem to think, shels get less than a thousand then where is all the money going?????? We can see what shels are doing with their money yet cork attract roughly 6 times the amount of fans per game and their money seems to fall into a black hole.

Look up overdraft and 3rd round or bust, if you're still unsure try looking at Shamrock Rovers

For City look up keeping within a budget

It still doesn't answer the question.
If you yield more fans EVERY game then surely you should be richer. It's clear to see where shels are spending their money, e.g. having the largest wage bill in the eL. Once again cork's money seems to be vanishing. :confused:

a few easy-to-understand examples

1. We don't own the ground, so we have to pay rent.
2. We don't have a bar, I'd imagine Shels make more from their's than from the gate
3. We have real travelling expenses, you're longest journey during the league will be coming down to us once, we have to do that journey and longer every second week

Not just that but when we have fundraisers and events etc we can, usually, hold them in our own facilities. This helps in two ways, one that it's obviously rent free and two that the people there will then spend extra money on booze, merchandise etc

A small percentage of a clubs income comes from just selling tickets to matches and that's the area that Cork are way behind in.

Can any of you give me list of the players shels have sold or loaned or released? You'd think we had 40 fulltime pros at the club :confused:

Fenlon is not under pressure to get to the third round of the Champions League. You also want us to win the league and cup too? Thats a great one...

Where do you lot get your information from? The bohs message board is it ;)

He is under pressure to win the league and has always been. After coming second he was under pressure to improve. Thats just the way it is at shels these days. We have the squad to do it so there is no reason why he shouldnt. As far as Champions League goes anything after the first round is a bonus.

Even Ollie is not thick enough to assume we are in the third round.

Fund raising/advertising/sponsorship accounts for more money than gate receipts, and having two bars is a major, major help in that department

Couple of years ago Bohs released annula accounts which showed more revenue (don't know if was profit or income) from the bars tna gate receipts.
