Great business by the club. Meenan has 3 League medals he should tear up the FD. As for Galvin he’s a good ball player and we already have a packed midfield so competition for places should be superb.

absolutely made up with the signing of Darren Meenan. quality signing and loads of experience to offer too. He could be our Stephen Rice. now get us a good striker.
I hear Kevin O'Connor is going to retire and from what I have being hearing I dont think Don Cowan will be be with us anymore..
Dont know much about Galvin but would have heard of him all right.
speaking of our local lads I hear that Tristan Noack Hofmann wont be staying with us and I hear the chances of Aodh Dervan(who was superb towards the end of the season imo) resigning again is 99% certain.
Tristan is about to or just did start college didn't he? So he might not want the hassle, it would be a pity to lose him, he played for my old underage club UCL Harps :D
Out of interest how good are the local kids that have been around the fringes, for the exiles like myself who don't get to see many matches?
From the limited bit I’ve seen of them both Aodh and Tristan are good enough for First Division football certainly. Would be a shame to lose either of them.
I saw in star today that we are playing Bohs in a preseason friendly on the last date of this month in the AUL at 1945. Interesting to see how we line up.
heard today in town that Tristan is definitely staying with us which is superb news. Don Cowan has retired from the game. We also have a squad of 18 now which must include Tristan and Aodh. I know someone said we had a squad of 15 beforehand before today but stand corrected.
Jake Kelly has left us to return to Bray Wanderers for his third spell with them.
Turned out to be a major disappointment for us.
Yea he was woeful. No loss. Delighted for Tristan that he's staying.
Poor old Don. He made us a tidy sum back in the day. Never got back to where he was unfortunately.
Did an interview with Fenn earlier for my podcast which will be online tomorrow but the main talking points to come out of it that answers most questions above are.......We’ve signed a new striker from an AUL club, Don and Kev have retired, Tristan and Aodh have re-signed. Also some very interesting friendlies lined up including a home tie against a team from America. Full details here - https://betweenthestripesblog.wordpr...s-loi-podcast/

Fair play for putting up the squad so early on in pre-season (although C Byrne's photo is beside Hollywood's profile and vice versa).
A couple of interesting points. The average age is only 22 and only 2 players have been with the senior squad for more than a year (Chambers and Tristan). Practically an entire new team.
Dean Byrne is an interesting one. The last striker we signed from non league worked out alright. Neale Fenn has obviously been doing his homework in relation to these young lads. I’d much prefer a squad of enthusiastic young lads with ability than a squad full of journeymen.
The experienced lads like O’Reilly, Mulhall and Zambra will be important in order to help the younger lads in difficult situations.
AUL B is a fierce low standard but Fenn seems to know a good non league player when he sees on so let’s see what Byrne has
Excellent, nearly hour long, interview with Neale Fenn here from Des Curran. Curran had obviously done his homework and Neale speaks very impressively again. Looking forward to seeing how his team shapes up.
