Busted did a version of "Mrs Robinson".
I nearly cried. I love that song and look what those teeny bopping disgraces have done to it.
The Lemonheads did a good cover, obviously Simon and Garfunkel did a fabulous job at the start.

Can't recall her being a proper house name, was she not just one of the random pop music heads who used people from the house scene to help push their records by working with them or if you're name's Paul Weller ripping them off the week they're about to release the original  Will randomly guess that Macy might know something about this seeing as he's from Manchester where house was at its biggest in the UK.
She was a featured vocalist on three D-MOB hit singles before her first solo hit.Quote:

Beyonce doing the Bee Gee's 'Emotions'
Blur doing the Specials 'Nightclub'

Ages ago I heard Tori Amos (pretty sure it was her anyway) do a cover of "Smells like teen spirit", with only a piano - no drums, guitar, etc.
Words failed me.
Tori Amos' version of smells like teen spirit is on the b-side of the Silent All These Years single. I really like it actually ...though I acknowledge it's blatant attention seeking.
As for Cathy Dennis -who was brought up a few posts back -she was very much on the SAW end of house and released the kind of muck they used regularly feature on 'The hitman and her'. the only thing that separates her from the reynolds girls is the fact she wasn't utterly kicked.
mot the hoople ---wasnt rory gallagher inspired by them???
Cathy Dennis worked with D-Mob initially and then had a solo career. She always co-wrote her material and is one of the most successful songwriters on the music scene today. She co-wrote Kylie's hit " Can't Get You Out of My Head" with Rob Davies who in the 1970's played Lead guitar for glam rockers MUD.Quote:
