No, that was the point, once the chap with the big-eared mate was ruled out, then there surely was only one Noddy the clue could be referring to (apart from our beloved former Pres, maybe, at a pinch). With that in mind then, 'dark land' or 'dirty land' to 'black country' wasn't that much of a stretch. That was the theory anyway! :D
