Not only that, but if you fancied an accumalator of the most likely results i.e. wins for Michaels, Town, Celtic and Peake, you'd double your money. Decent enough bet what do people think ?

Is it true that cashel signed barry mcCormack from cahir and one or two others
They finished with 8 or 9 players against villa in a massive game for them and not 1 of those red cards was needed, abusing the ref and general wrecklessness and i dont mean to have a go,i think they play great football and have loads of talent in the squad but their discipline seems their undoing, they also had a red card against Town and against Saints, did Villa have a red card in the whole of the season.....let alone an important game?
Celtic played over 30 games in all competitions last season and you more or less focus on 1 (Villa game) to suggest they have a discipline problem. I would contend it was the shocking performance of the referee that was the reason for the discipline issues that day, a fact (ref's performance) supported by the Peake Villa manager. Don't use one game as evidence to say that Celtic have a discipline problem. Of course they have had other red cards during the season, what team hadn't. If you went to the league and requested the yellow and red card tally for last season I bet you would be surprised where Celtic ranked.
Any team here looking for a friendly this Sunday 15th August away to a Limerick Prem team, PM me if your interested.
Anybody any thoughts on Div 1 this year??
Bridge seem to have strongest team again in this div. and for once they having been training very well in pre-season, pity they didn't do it for Prem League.
Only thing is Bridge have 4 or 5 suspensions at start of season but the Shield is their first game so at least it not a league tie.
Any info on other teams in Div 1?
i think you'll find most teams have at least 4 suspensions for the first game, anybody have any idea who is suspended from st michaels or clonmel town
Never a certainty in a bookies my good man, and I find that my small few bob tends to add two stone weight to any nag I decide to risk it on.. but as the man says, while the fight is not always to the strongest, nor the race to the fastest... that is the way to bet.
If I were to leave anything out of the accum, it would be a Michaels win against Cashel.. but then I would say that. We have a decent team again this year, with the majority of the players one year wiser as far as the Premier goes, and a much more settled pre-season than last. Had a couple of good results in challenges, without ever really having the best first team available or on the pitch.
It's the suspensions that could make a lottery of this weeks games. Not sure how many Saints have, but Cashel have a few and to pretty key players. Maybe they'll even themselves out.
Another big factor in the game might be whether Chalkie plays for Michaels or not. I've heard he won't be available, and no matter what people think of him, he'll be a big loss.
That's my tuppence worth.
The bet of the night really is Celtic at 1/5. Short odds, but at 20% return in 90 minutes, like I said, it's buying money. You'd have to fancy Peake strongly too against Galbally.
I feel Peake never really get the respect they deserve either on here or out in the real world. But they are the league champions, and they are going to put a decent team out in their first game of the season
Plus, Galbally are a promoted team and as Cashel found last year, it's a hell of a step up.
In fact, I am changing my bet of the night to Peake.. 4/11.. €40 back for 110... over 35% return in 90 minutes. You wouldn't get that with Anglo Irish Bank.
Fill ye're boots lads...
you seem to have alot of fate in the cashel team rock? from watchin Cashel against Blackcastle last weekend they looked excellent.fit sharp an passed blackcastle out of the game.i think it will be a tough game for cashel but i have a sneaky feeling about it.i think cashel can do it.but along with Micheals they are missing some very key players.the new manager seems to be working well,so hopefully they will be up for it,im sure they will..have some more fate in the team....i think clonmel town have it this year.they had an awful start last season but got it together for the second half.i would go with clonmel town.
I've plenty of faith in the Cashel Team CM.. but if you read the post more closely, you'd see that my money on Michaels would probably be worth a goal start for Cashel, such is my terrible luck with the bookies.
There is no doubt that Cashel passed Blackcastle off the field last weekend, but betting is about form, and the formbook shows that Michaels did the same to them, twice, over the past two weeks, so there you go.
I too think Cashel will do well against Michaels on Friday evening. The important thing is to keep things tight in the early part of the game. We were behind in both games last year before we were warmed up, and you simply can't give them a goal (or four!!!) start again. If that can be avoided, there is nothing stopping Cashel getting a win (not even my twenty :victory: )
Whether Chalkie plays, and I only just heard earlier that Paul Breen is suspended as well, could make a huge difference. That's the heart of their defensive unit. If you can exploit that, could make for an interesting evening.
shane guerin signed for st michaels.ex balla an limerick.striker
As much as it pains me to post this i sadly report that the Rock Rovers club has withdrawn from the Tipperary League.Last night 3 players asked for releases from the Rock to join Carrick United. This coupled with 4 players suspended for the first two games of the season and 2 or 3 injuries leaves the squad in tatters. The players just aren't there.
I know this will please a lot of people but i think its really disappointing because there are a couple of really genuine lads that are involved in that club that fought tooth and nail to keep the Rock afloat year in year out.The 3 players that have left should have let the club know sooner than 2 nights before the season starts but when you have a big club like Carrick United approaching you,it's hard to say no.
