There's no better way of announcing a goal imo, or home line ups. Really whips the crowd up. Much better than a barely enthusiastic drone, that you get here.

With Bayern, the PA/crowd always announces "nul" for the opponents when Bayern score, regardless of the actual score. Happens everywhere else in the Bundesliga as well.

The French bloke admittedly pulled a fast one when France "scored" last week, declaring the overall score, rather than the one on the night. :mad:

attended most of FC N�rnberg's home games in 2004/2005 and have to say this is an awesome way to get the atmosphere going / gee up the players.

not sure you could get it going in ireland, but would be good if you could...

and also, after lad's score....

At the rugby on saturday he (assume it is the same guy) butchered the South African names in a totally incompetent display. Obviously apart from winning the World Cup and the tri nations they are nobodies in world rugby. He then announced that Bakkies Botha (top player and high profile withdrawal) was coming on to the pitch.

he thinks its all about him and just never shuts up. example: three mins to go on sat in a very tense second half and the PA clown comes on to spend a good 30 secs announcing the MOTM with the SA team attacking our line. pathetic!

The Tadhg de Brun thing at half time was hilarious in its incompetence. The poor fella must have been mortified.

"A legend who most of you know". Err, no, he's a floor manager, ergo most people in the stadium won't know him.

As for his announcements when the Beast came off and odd for a bloodbin, cringeworthy. A long string of letters that failed to come together into a name.

The half-time stuff was extraordinary - I guess the De Brun guy must have given the nitwit a few gigs or something.

We were breaking up at his efforts to pronounce the names - you'd think he would at least have the courtesy and professionalism to prepare - he sounded like he had never seen the names before, never mind heard them pronounced.

I happened to be at an Argentinian league match at the weekend (shameless showing off there) where they didn't stop the scoreboard clock for injury time and played out the full four minutes. I think it was the first time I'd ever seen it but River Plate took advantage to score an injury time equaliser against Estudiantes (including Juan Sebastian Veron who still looks a classy player).

yeah, everyone mind their toes while EastTerracer carelessly namedrops exotic holiday destinations....;)

totally agreee that the injury time should run on the clock, but this is sometimes complicated by the issue of further stoppages during stoppage time....

and shouldn't that be, JS Veron, who now looks a classy player.... he was awful when he played in the premiership.

The major problem is that nobody knows how much injury time there is until the clock strikes 90 minutes, and it gives nobody the time to adjust the scoreboard.

The injury time board should go up 1 or 2 minutes before. What's the need to wait til the 90 minute mark is reached?
