The minister of finance once claimed that he didn’t have a bank account. In Ireland there seems to be no morals about what is reality or not.

Change the subject a bit. AD will be a huge loss to Longford Town FC. Practically the only local in the team we will have to start all over again and give local youngsters their chance all over again! Another loi player to come from the local feeder club of Melview FC. Hes small in stature but has the heart of a lion.
If that claim was true then of course it wouldn’t matter whether it was activated or not and Pats would have no
grounds for a court case. The fact they’ve gone to court strongly suggests the claim is not true. Perhaps poor SOD thought it was. In which case someone advised him very badly.
People go to court every day of the week. Some win cases, some lose cases. The initiation of legal proceedings shouldn’t be seen as proof of anything. Do you think everyone that takes a court case wins?
The fact is they haven’t gone to court yet. They’ve filed a high court action which has yet to be scheduled for hearing, determined or adjudicated on. Yet people on here think it’s indicative of something. All it indicates to me is rich guy can afford lawyers.
It's not believable. So called under qualified candidate who would also be paid below market rate by Pats why on earth would O'Donnell commit to any unilateral clause that would see him rewarded at the end of the 2.5 years that Pats deem to be successful locked into exact same below market contract now at a shorter term of 2 years. Pats/Kelleher are trying to claim that an effective 4.5 year contract was signed with Pats having the option to continue/end it after 2.5 years
Sam Bone to Dundalk..
Or if he had signed a new deal............... Pats fans 'Ah yeah happy with that, gives us some consistency with players moving out'
Did he not start majority of games last season including the cup final?
Was third choice CB behind Barrett and Desmond. Then filled in at RB when Mountney was injured but was poor in that position. Pats now have Barrett, Redmond and Abankwah for CB and are in the process of signing a top-drawer RB so he wasn’t being kept on. SOD seems to like him. He is by all accounts a nice lad so
I hope it works out for him. I’d be more than happy to see him in the Dundalk back four when we play them.
Would have been fine with keeping Bone but not fussed that he's gone really. His biggest asset was the number of positions he could fill, it's why he played so many games despite being second choice in each spot he played in. Think we didn't see the best of him as he's probably best as a defensive midfielder and he mostly filled in at right full and centre back.
The other player brought in by SOD who is probably on the way out due to new signings (Owalabi and Doyle) is Ronan Coughlan. Interesting to see if he ends up in Oriel too.
Dummingam probably same for us, could play anywhere across the back, you also think 'replaceable' but at same time really important to have these type of players in clubs, gives so many options.
Interesting on Mountney playing RF for Pats as he rarely played that with Dundalk, right side MF more his role.
Bone caused Dundalk plenty of problems last year, happy with that signing.
For whatever reason, SOD didn’t sign a proper right back for Pats. So he had to shoehorn a midfielder (Mountney) and then a centre back (Bone) into that position and neither was a glowing success in the role. Sounds like he’s going the same route again unless you have someone else there who can do the job properly.
As of now we don’t have one but there’s still plenty of time and budget.
Maybe a Mod could could split the thread? Hard to keep up with all the Judge Judy/Judge Dredd/Jerry Jones et al .expert opinions and the actual signings now tbh!
I think Bone would have been a handy player to keep due to his versatility. His departure won’t have fans in tears either. I’d rate him as a solid sort of player capable of doing a job a rb & cb without excelling in either position.
Bone was decent at Rovers, good passing range , def more of a central defensive midfielder the a cb or rb. He is a bit immobile and struggles against pace when at the back. Decent squad player and I'd say that's why he has been signed
Ironically passing was probably his worst attribute at Pats, particularly when he played right back. He never really went down the wing to put crosses into the box (probably due to his lack of pace and not wanting to be caught out on the counter) and every time he got the ball on halfway he seemed to give the ball away when trying to pass to his right winger. Due to that natural defensive position he’d take while playing RB, he’d be ready to defend all the time and did ok in that aspect (unless the winger had any pace) but his inability to attack leaves a big gap in the team offensively
