good post alright..look as much as delaney is disliked by some, he has done alot for football in tipp south and has probably helped with grants or finances with clubs. ask any chairman of a club if there is any chance of getting tickets for matches delaney springs to mind too. credit to the man he tries his best and has been through alot with the fai over his years as head..(Saipan}, people blamed him for that!FAI needs a serious shake up of personel like the Government. It would be nice to see some younger people in some of these roles, no hard feelings Mr lewis, I would like to see there expense claims over the years it would be good reading. As for the Dublin thing..first of all I would like them to change there rule about all games beong in Dublin..im sure they could throw a few games to thomond park, decent games, not like the rubbish they sent the last time..at least if this is done it wont be seen that the home of Irish football is Dublin but outside of it too. Just an idea is all.
Agreed a brilliant post, there are people on this forum who come on for the sole purpose of just abusing St Michaels which is pretty sad lets be honest....but equally there is a couple of idiots who come on in the name of St Michaels and abuse Clonmel Town players which is equally sad, as Preds says lets acknowledge players and the league and focus on football for a change, take the personal attacks elsewhere, we are privileged to have a great league
Well said Hooper!
I think abuse is a bit strong..taking the michael maybe but abusing? Its about voicing opinions, if we all agreed with each other you would have an exciting forum then!Bit of good humoured banter is healthy too.
Hooper74, as genuine football fan can you honestly say that the premier league is a good league? Last season was an exception but we`re back to two teams in the running again this year. Nobody can deny that Town and Micheals form in the FAI and MJC over the years is very impressive but at what cost? I`m not having a pop at either club but is it fair that the league fixtures are set to suit runs in both of these cups e.g midweek games in august? I think we need more emphasis on making the league more competative and I don`t think that runs in these cups or players getting Irish caps is a true reflection on how the league is going. And before anybody says it getting an Irish cap is a great honour.
Happy Christmas to one and all even you bitter people! HA! Have a good one!
[QUOTE=Pearoso27;1436195]Happy Christmas to one and all even you bitter people! HA! Have a good one!
Happy Christmas to you too you Saints ***** :) Just kidding its the season of good will and heres to an exciting second half of the season and hopefully plenty to fight about
Bitta soccer this weekend boys :)
hopefully anyway, saints in fai action , celtic/borris and cashel/clonmel town in mjc , villa / galbally in premier and alot of good games down for division 1 aswell, be great if all games get played, weather seems ok at the moment anyway
Ya, pitches are perfect now. I was on one the other day and it was crazy how soft it was compared to how hard they were a few days previous.
The weather wil be fine aswell, bitta rain sunday but thats all.
Heres my predictions for todays games, i am going to stick my neck out and go for a Cashel victory against Town in the Munster, Peake to beat Galbally 3-1 in the league and Celtic to beat Borris 4-0 and Saints to win 2-0 in the FAI
St michaels 3-0 Newcastle west afc
Celtic defeated borris 2 nil after extra time but they can count there lucky stars. The best team lost on the day, borris must have missin 5 certain goal chances. Where as celtic had 1 attempt on goal all game. Borris cant blame anyone but themselves but can be proud of there performance. They outclassed celtic all over the pitch.
Anything exciting today lads?
i see st nicholas bowed out of the fai today.
Cashel pulled back into relegation trouble with Cahir beating wilderness. St Michaels game called off because ref ( Paddy Keane) crashed car on way to match, he's ok.
Guaranteed to be a problem in the complex next Sunday with Carew Park and Clonmel Town with Willie Burke reffing, its a very strange appointment for the fixture and i bet Town are not one bit happy with it and mark my words there will be controversy
thats harsh give the lad a chance to ref big game, he has not made any major errors, even the more experienced refs like hadnett, freiberg, mckell get stick on this site, so you just cant win with any ref with some people. has the makings of a good game carew not on same level as pike or fairview but meant to be a decent attacking team so could cause town a few problems. town didnt play last weekend cause of weather which is pity coming into big game like this, but they should have enough ill go for a town win 3-2 or 2-1 due to towns big day experience being a factor.
celtic also out in MJC away to anacotty another premier team from limerick, celtic dont seem to be firing on all cylinders this season but if they click on the day they have great chance. however giving aisling have home advantage they must be favs for this one. i can see it going to extra time , celtic have alot of pacey fit players who could exploit a tiring team in extra time so ill tip them to go through after extra time or on pens.
Ballingarry away in Galway will be tough for them up against a premier team from galway in galway hibs. Ballingarry seem to have lost all form lately in division 1 so are struggling but any team that has played them down through the years will vouch that they are a tough team and give very little away. they have good cup pedigree last few years i think this is 2 years in a row they have made last 64 of fai and a couple of tipp cup semi appearances but i can see them losing 2-0.
Saints play cahir this weekend in the league , good win for cahir last week versus wildies but you would have to fancy saints. If there is 2 going down is gonna be a real battle between cashel and cahir now to pick up a few points, galbally are definatly gone think there 4 or 5 points a drift now with 4 games to go.
back to saints draw for fai and mjc has been kind with home draws against clare sides. i really fancy saints for either fai or mjc this season, they have serious side put together and are due a break in my opinion have been very unlucky over last 5 or 6 years trophywise and fai this year would make up for all that
