Cretaro said the reduced squad at Paul Cook’s disposal - due to a series of injuries and suspensions - had put pressure on the remaining players, but he revealed two young players from England are on trial at The Showgrounds with a view to signing.

Quote from extratime.ie:
Alan Dooley, The Showgrounds, reporting "Quite a few Dan or Dannys on the pitch tonight. Five in all. Five triallists for Sligo were out warming up before the game. They need them with only 4 out of a possible 7 subs."
Didnt know we had trialists warming up, are these the 3 Celtic youths and 2 english players being mentioned ?
cookie said last night we have 5 trialists, 2 lads from preston ne, 1 from institutute in the north who is a centre back and 2 very young lads from dublin.
Just what we want, another injury prone defender!!!!!!
Meanwhile, Gregg has revealed that towering centre-half, Mark Scoltock has chosen to remain at the club despite interest from League of Ireland Premier Division side, Sligo Rovers.
The Waterside man was believed to be on a week's trial at the Bit O' Red but Gregg insists the former Limavady United man has turned down a full-time contract to remain at the Riverside.
"Sligo Rovers have shown genuine interest in him and they've offered him a full-time contract, but Mark has decided to stay with us. He's a big player for us, he's a strong centre-half and I'm delighted he has opted to stay."

You'd wonder what sort of ambition this lad has? What would you choose if you had the choice European Football, full time contract, FAI and EA cup or a regular game with Institute in Norn Iron.....
And what are the chances he would have moved? The travelling that would be involved probably wouldn't have made it worthwhile for the lad. He might be better off financially and timewise staying at Institute.
Heard Sean Doherty gone released today? Did you hear anything
yes. iheard that he is gone but 2 new faces in. will not be eligable for 1st leg of europa but will be available for 2nd leg
heard today that a certain ex sligo rovers and bohemians centre half currently playing in county louth could be on his way back. apparantly it could be closer than we think. heard from somebody who would be fairly reliable.
Actually, it was Farnaharpy.
Lads I know it would be a long shot, but do any of ye think we would be able to sign JP Kelly now that hes been released by Drogheda ? A player we all know has quality and would be a great addition, it might be a long shot but surely its worth a try ?
Hopefully Burns is coming back as being rumoured, was a solid defender with us and was one of the best if not the best defender in the league under Pat Fenlon but under Sean Connor hes not as good as he was (again) and as we know Paul Cook will get the best out of him.
DrDoc said on the main forum that we have signed Matthew Blinkhorn, and he knows his stuff so I'm sure it's true. 24 year old striker, was a free agent after previously being with Morecambe.

If Burns is coming back to Rovers no one has told him about it.
Two new signings to be unvieled to the crowd tonight at the game so i hear.
