Replied to a tweet last night about their coverage of the LOI. Said they would struggle to spell it, never mind have a discussion on it.

Would Dundalk take Paul Corry?
Am not all that convinced it'll improve Galway's gate on Friday to be honest.
I actually can't do the maths Stu...
Was lookin at the CL prize money on Wikipedia:
- First Qualifying Round: €200,000
- Second Qualifying Round: €300,000
- Third Qualifying Round: €400,000
- Play-offs Eliminated: €3,000,000
Does this mean that Dundalk are guaranteed a minimum of €5.4 mill (3mill + 2.4mill(as base fee for UL group stage)), or a minimum of €6.3 mill (200k + 300k + 400k +3mill + 2.4mill)??
I was one of the unfortunates that was working during the night and have no net on my phone so imagine my delight when I checked the papers today! Bate must have got a fright with the rain! Have it recorded so will see it at w.end when I get home. I am hopin Cork will do the business tmw night.. Also I am very proud of Stephen Kenny and Vinny Perth for all their hard work!
Dundalk's possible opponents as it stands:
Viktoria Plzen Cze 44.585 36.695 Salzburg Aut 42.520 36.045 Celtic Sco 40.460 36.835 APOEL Cyp 35.935 17.610 Legia Warsaw Pol 28.000 21.425
Current matches
FT: Kobenhavn 3-0 Astra (4-1 agg)
FT: Hapoel Beer Sheva 1-0 Olympiakos (1-0 agg)
FT: Salzburg 2-0 Partizani (3-0 agg)
FT: Celtic 2-1 Astana (3-2 agg)
FT: Legia 0-0 Trencin (1-0 agg)
Olympiakos, Legia, Salzburg and Celtic all struggling to do much, bring it on.
Olympiacos heading out as it stands
Olympiacos officially out. Maybe just maybe!
Astana have just equalised against Celtic. 2-2 on aggregate. Great finish from distance with the keeper well off his line after he'd come out to head the ball away. Only problem was it arrived straight to an Astana player.
Who would be next in line to take Celtic's place in the draw?
Legia take Olympiakos' (assuming Legia don't chuck it away now) and Dinamo Zagreb take Celtic's. Much of a muchness in both cases.
Salzburg win means that København can't be seeded. That leaves Dinamo Zagreb and Ludogorets hoping for late surprises.
On the one hand, I'd be disappointed if Celtic went out as they are a very ordinary side and beatable. On the other hand, it would be hilarious after reading all the comments from Celtic fans hoping to draw Dundalk in the play-off round.
Yeah I strangely find myself hoping celtic win. I think they are weaker than Zagreb or Ludogorets.
91st min peno for Celtic.....
Scored, Celtic through
Its one of these:
Viktoria Plzen
Salzburg
Celtic
APOEL
Legia Warsaw
Celtic are absolute poison dirt.
Scraped over the line against a team of goat herders with an actual clown from an actual circus in goals.
You'd want them or the Czechs if you were Dundalk.
Astana actually a decent side, but yes, Celtic or Plzen, APOEL a close third.
I'd take one of those 3
I just don't want Celtic, not because we wouldn't beat them but because it would be like 2 away games with the likelihood of the home leg at the Aviva. No doubt there will be the usual guff from RTE et al prior to the draw in us wanting the "glamour tie" against Celtic.
Do Beer Sheba not take Olympiakos's seeding, or is that just for earlier rounds?
Who knows? Draw Legia and they might field a suspended/ineligible player... ;)
Celtic would be excellent, but if they draw them, then I would hope they try and keep it in Tallaght or RDS, decrease the chance of it being predominantly away fans.
From a football point of view, Celtic would be a decent draw. However, it would also be a circus and a distraction.
APOEL the team to get i hope! .... best chance i think.
Victoria Plzen for me would be the easiest draw for Dundalk. Celtic are garbage as we know but I just don't want too see 40k knobheads cheering on a Scottish side against an Irish one.
I was in the Czech republic a few yrs ago and caught a Plzen game. They're a decent side, but not on the level of Bate so Dundalk have nothing to fear.
