Fair play to Linfield. Thats a damn good result, very hard to qualify still, but that's quite impressive

They had chances to take a bigger advantage to Estonia but they still should go through i reckon .
Best of luck to Pats and Bohs in the Europa League tomorrow.
We played well. Not sure how well they played. They only had two shots on goal, one was a penalty (which was fairly harsh) and the other was a freekick. had we taken our chances we could well have won the game.
Checking the stats we were the only lower rated club not to lose.
Just like last summer all i can say is what if we would have drawn a team that wasn't the very top seed?
In the past 5 seasons competing in the Champions League we have drawn the top seed 4 times. The year we didn't we drew the second top. Is someone actually taking the **** or what?
2006 - Gorica (Slovenia) (top seed)
2007 - Elfsborg (Sweden) (second top seed)
2008 - Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia) (top seed)
2010 - Rosenborg (Norway) (top seed)
2011 - BATE Borisov (Belarus) (top seed)
What do you reckon of your chances in Belarus?
when did a loi side beat dinamo zagreb
I was wrong about Bohs beating BATE Borisov in the last five years though. It was in 2003.
Here's the list of countries LOI sides have beaten since 2006;
2006
Cyprus
Sweden
Scotland
Finland
Lithuania
(lost on penalties to Norway too)
2007
San Marino
Iceland
2008
Estonia
Latvia
Sweden
Wales
2009
Malta
Russia
Latvia
2010
Luxembourg
Israel
2011 (so far)
Iceland
Gramaerz forgot to mention they lost 7-0 to Randers in 2009 too
Georgia are after overtaking us in country ranking and are pulling away from us, but we are staying ahead of Moldova and Lithuania coefficient wise so far.
We only got beat by a solidary goal to Elfsborg, 1-0 in Sweden.
Dinamo Zagreb are a different class to any other Croation side.
Shels or Bohs beat BATE in 2003/04. Belarusian football has came on leaps and bounds since then. To put it into perspective just last season they made the final 32 of the Europa Cup. They beat Everton, Anderlecht and drew with Juventus home and away.
As for our chances of progession. Unlikely. They must have at least 2 more gears to go up. They are mid-way through their season and only been defeated once in this season. They have won their league for the past 6 years and are well on course for 7 in a row.
Airtiricity sides have done well for the simple reason you are mid-season when Europe kicks off. if you reverted back to winter football you may see a change and not for the better.
As for Randers, not quite sure what happened there... But it wasn't Champions League... however if you want to cast up embarrassing defeats look no further than last year when the Bohs were dumped out by TNS.
It says on the UEFA web site the Pats game is on at 3pm. I'm guessing this is CET.
ANyone have any link to the game??
I know he didn't but it was years ago(was it 2004?) when shels beat split, and i would put zagreb up there as a fairly strong team. I think along with BATE those 3 are quite tough to be honest and any LOI side(or Irish league) would be doing extremely well to beat any of them.
Greamerz, don't take heed, Dodge has a way of using certain facts and ignoring others to suit his argument. :)
Anyway best of luck to both teams tonight/afternoon, hopefully they can take the advantage back to Dublin.
