Fixtures
Last night
Newmarket v Tulla
Sun
Newmarket v Kilkishen
Kilkishen need to win to avoid automatic relegation
If Kilkishen win there last game and finish level on the same pts as St Pats and Avenue. How do they run of the playoffs, i take it that St Pats cant get relegated because of their B-team.
Frankie was a disgrace to Newmarket mostly..booked players for throwing there eyes up to the sky...i know thats not as nearly as bad as a 2 footed lunge but according to Frankie a look to the sky is vicious..A moher player made a desperate tackle at one stage and was just about to be booked when a newmarket player shouted "come on Frankie" and Frankies response was "I was going to book him but since you shouted at me im not goin to"!!!
All il say is i feel terribly sorry for the poor lost dogs in Clare...:p
Big game tonight for both clubs...
A draw is no good for either side... a win is a must for the bridge... otherwise they could be in the playoff position very soon.
Also maybe Rineanna could find themselves involved in the relegation battle if a few results go against them
With Bridge Celtic in position of Man Utd ... its down really to the battle to avoid the drop now...
If a team is placed 3rd in the first div does that mean its a playoff with a prem team thats 3rd last from bottom
Olympic 1-2 Newtown.
Ray Quigley and Cheeky MacDonald for Newtown.
Bridge UTD 1-1 Newmarket
Anyone got other results
League table has been updated with last nights results.. http://www.freewebs.com/clareleague/index.htm
Lifford won 2 nil, That is 3 great wins in a row for Lifford.
It's a pity it took Lifford so long to get going this season because after seeing them play last night they look like a team that should be fighting for the league.
Any match report from the Shanon derby. Oly are more or less relegated now. 4 other teams down there fighting to avoid the drop and it could be Bunratty in the playoff so I don't think any team would fancy playing them.
I still think Newmarket will be ok and First you might even be celebrating a Cup in a few weeks time. A good chance for Newmarket to finish a bad season on a high.
Newtown went 1-0 up through Ray Quigley. Ray played a ball over the top for Cheeky but the keeper ran out and the ball bounced over his head and straight into the net. The rest of the 1st half was poor but Olympic had a super chance to level with Jay Regan blasting over from 3 yards. 2nd half saw Olympic trying to up the pace but it only looked like Newtown would score which they did through Cheeky about 10mins in. Eamonn O' Neill then hit a post as Newtown were strolling. Then Newtown made 3 subs with about 30mins left and from here Olympic dominated until the end. Albert Murphy gave Olympic a lifeline with 20 to go. A corner came in which Newtown headed away only for Albert to give a penalty for what god only knows:confused: Terry Duggan missed the resulting spot kick (good save from skinny). Olympic kept going however and Richie got one back with a superb finish into the top left corner. However that was the last real chance of the game bar a few long range efforts from both teams.
Poor game overall at a walking pace, no bite to it at all.
Man of the Match: Cheeky
Maybe , but from lasts nights performance Newmarket need to find goals from somewhere. Should have had the game wrapped up at half time and no offense to the Bridge but a 6 -0 scoreline wouldn't have flattered Newmarket. The amount of chances that were missed last night was unbelieveable. Panic seemed to be the way when the chances arose.
tulla vs newmarket was called off kilkishen should beat newmarket on sunday, they are on a good run at the moment espically after hammering olympic last sunday
Bridge celtic 1 (paul mcevoy) Moher 1
scrappy enough encounter...draw was probably the fair result...
it isnt over til its over mathimatically....not 100% sure but i think a point against bridge united should seal it for bridge celtic...thats if moher win all their remaining matches...if moher slip up bridge win it without kickin a ball...
well thats what im lead to believe....i stand to be corrected

An important fixture in prospect between Newmarket and Rineanna wednesday night... If Rineanna don't win, they have a serious chance of relegation.. They also play again two days later against Moher, why isn't this game on Sunday?
Bridge Utd also have a very important game V avenue, Utd are starting to run out of games..

Just heard that 1 of Shannon Olympics Star players has just received an 8 Month Ban from the Clare League for receiving A red card after their 2 all draw against Mohar. The red card was shown to the player after the game for calling the Ref a cheating f***er..
Is this 8 Month Ban a bit harsh???
OR,
Is this 8 Month Ban Justified???
Any Comments??
8 months... Pros don't get that for assaulting referees... I think the powers that be have decided if they've made so many bad decisions already this season why not go the whole hog!
Can it be appealed... use the naivety of youth as an excuse??
Ya he is out until Jan 08, Heard another player from a different team ran the lenght of the pitch to kick a player on the ground just got 3 game ban. Try work out what the thinkings of the Clare league were when they made their decisions to suspend the 2 players in question:confused: or maybe they got the suspensions mixed up:eek:
[QUOTE=Pretender;681124]8 months... Pros don't get that for assaulting referees...Eric the king of Old Trafford got something similar for that kung fu effort on the Palace fan
Can it be appealed... use the naivety of youth as an excuse??I'm sure it will be appealed.
Sorry but i forgot to tell you that along with the 8 Month Ban, he has also a fine of 50 euro to pay aswell.:D

Very harsh decision. People always get carried away in the heat of the moment and people have certainly said a lot worse to referees. Another blow for Olympic it only gets worse
