Pay your bills on time. Works wonders moving foward.
In all seriousness, it's tough what you're going through.
Last year, I actually split from my missus, the mother of my child and my partner of 5 years. We're back together now, but the split was the best thing both of us ever done. Just simply to get space from each other, thinking time and re-evaluation time.
You'll never know exactly where you're going to go from here. You'll take so much advice, and you'll hear an awful lot of rubbish about what you should and should not do. All I can say to you, is go with your gut. Only you really know what's best for you right now.
I only ended up spending little over a month split from my partner last year. It ended up being a month where I learned an awful lot more about myself, about who I was, and where my life was going. A year later, I've moved to the other end of the country, I've left college, and I'm concentrating on being a stay at home father for the time being and it was all for my girlfriend who needed to move back to Carlow to spend more time with her ageing parents as her only other sibling lives in Australia and has little other family to help take care of her folks.
You simply need to take stock of where you're at right now. Take a step back, breathe a little. And I'll honestly say this without a shred of discomfort or embarrassment, but counselling is your best friend right now. Whether or not you feel you need it, one of the greatest things I've ever done in my life despite initial reservations over whether I should have, or needed to go.
Only time will tell what is next in store for you.
AV, I can't even add to that post from Nigel.
Absolutely wonderful stuff and spot on in every respect.
I think it depends on the cause too. If she cheated or you cheated and are kicking yourself, that's rough. If its just growing apart, having diff goals or being long distance, etc...that's a little different. Jealousy is a waste of energy tho. I will say that.
Thanks for the advice lads, yeah, it's pretty crap. It was more the drifting apart variety, we're both incredibly busy, just wasn't working any more. Now going through the cluster**** of who keeps what, who moves where. Names are on all of the various bills. I've had to duck out of the social stuff now for the last few days, simply because we have the same circle of friends, having gone to college together, lived together etc. The problem with being busy now thou is that it isn't as much of a distraction, as just making it very difficult to function. Could really use a holiday right about now to clear my head and get all the logistics out of the way.
Don't mean to be cluttering up the forum with my sorrow now, so my apologies.
Someone robbed the lights off my bike today! Who does that!
Ex girlfriends?
That's a balls though. My front light was stolen off my bike recently while I was at work. I never bothered taking it off because the shed is right by security here and in 8 years I never had an issue. A truly manky thing to do to someone at this time of year when it's vital having lights. Had to cycle with my phone out and flashlight app on to get home. Must have looked a right mentaller but I had no choice.
You guys don't wear the tight bike rider guy "I cycle like Lance Armstrong" outfits with the spandex do you? Should be illegal. Deserve to get your lights stolen if so.
Mr A in a spandex cycling suit. That'd be a sight for the ages.
I don't wear lycra for commuting, but I do in the summer when out for spins on the road bike.
So there.
Well, that's me told! Didn't think that'd be your style.
Semi quoting a very famous old now dead Texas basketball coach "I would rather have a daughter who was a prostitute than a son who wore spandex." Just sub another word for prostitute.
Henry has nothing on this...

For anyone on Facebook, do yourselves a favour and get on and read these. Trolling at it's absolute finest. Glorious.
Lifting a dead mouse from my front porch was not on my to-do list when I woke up this morning. Horrible little vermin.
