and what were the reasons??

just seen that it says nenagh v cahir park in joe delaney on next sunday, didnt clonmel town youths win that semi? must be a type error
How could they not field a team?
It's being played in the Middle of the Leaving Cert and most parents would rather have their lads studying then playing a Soccer match !! Just a thought
scandalous having lads play a match in the middle of the leaving cert, the gaa shuts down, dont know why the soccer cant follow suit, ignorant really
Oh ya i forgot about the leavin cert, terrible time to play a match alright.
Does this mean that the Town boys are more diligent about their exams than the Nenagh and Cahir boys? Maybe Town should have fielded a team may up of boys not doing exams, maybe they would be as strong as they would like, but they would give invaluable experience to some players who may not have played otherwise.
Heard this morning that there is an appeal gone into the FAI, apparently they only mentioned that they would not be able to play to Lewis and gave no written notification that they would not fulfill the fixture, they then were subsequently were thrown out and Cahir who they beat in the semi were put through to the final, he didnt think the tie would take place on Sunday because of the appeal, seems very odd
I assume the appeal was sent to the Munster Football Association - that is the procedure - MFA first with appropriate fee and if lost there it can be appealed to FAI.
I heard Clonmel Town did give written notification (by e-mail) that they would not be able to fulfill the fixture on 12th June. If they did I'm sure a copy will be produced at the hearing and will be vital.
the chap who told me said the clonmel town secretary wrote and email to the north tipperary league secretary stating that he didnt think he could field a team because of exams and that there was no communication with tommy lewis in the tipperary league whatsoever. im surprised cahir have not distanced themselves away from this and have not just omitted themselves from the competition, could cause some friction between the two sides in future fixtures. any town lads on this no anymore to the situation or is it all hush hush :-)
lads just a small bit of information if its any good to ye, nenagh town did say they wouldnt play but were told if they didnt that nenagh celtic would play(but i can assure you nenagh celtic would not have fielded a team and have no interest playing in a final we dont deserve to be in).this cup is supposed to be run off before the end of may and was fixed for other dates but had to be changed because lewis wanted john delaney at the match is what the north officials said. i think this should be a pre season cup as its too much hassle at the end of the season. best of luck to clonmel and nenagh in the final and may the best team win.
clonmel and nenagh in the final, has the issue been resolved???
heard today that kenny condon has been given the villa job, wonder will he take a few with him from cashel
just a quick question. will the make up of premier division be decided tomorow night at agm, whether its going to be a 8 or 9 team premier division, new clubs joining division 4 etc. or is this left till august and closer to when season starts.
good appointment for peake dont think will many players follow him from cashel though. Any other news on players or managers moving around tsdl, all has been very quiet on here lately
Just back from AGM. Applications to be in by 29th June. Committee meeting this week or next to work out set up of Premier and Div 1. A separate meeting to be held with Clubs who have or were thinking of having youths next season, has to be decided will there be an U17 league and U 19 League due to the change in ages next season.; ie all age brackets skip a year ie Players playing U15 this year will be U17 players next year.
Disappointing to see four clubs missing from AGM, Peake Villa, Cashel Town, Dundrum and Killenaule Rovers - two from Premier Division.
Totally agree with ya its a shame that at least one member of these clubs couldnt attend especially the 2 premier division sides.Anything interesting happen?
No harm taking part, better than playing challenge games and more lucrative than most domestic competitions. I think the winners and runners-up get special designed trophies, the winners get a new strip, the runners-up get, is it ten Umbro footballs and the beaten semi-finalists get unbro footballs also. Certainly both are ideal pre-season competitions.
I would agree have both as pre season comps as it can be used for games/ fitness instead of challenge games
Any more personal attacks on Mr Lewis will be met with a ban/suspension.
Noel Byrne officially installed as Villa manager again,a positive appointment for the club, would expect a lot transfer activity
Good appt if true ? This might lead to some movement of players especially the thurles lads at town but I think the league needs a strong peake interesting times ahead roll on new season
Hi lads I'm new to the forum and have been watching from afar all the different topics/ subjects being discussed with great interest , the one topic I would like to comment on is the debate between munster junior and premier league and to be fair for me there is no debate as an ex player and on very good terms with alot of town and saints lads and to a man they say prem league is a nice one to win but munster junior is huge one as a town player said to me last week he would swap his 6/7 league titles for another munster
Jaze, there will be some wheelin and dealin in the mid tipp area this year.
hey wombat id say "MANAGE" clonmel town is a bit too far, martin quinlivan and paul scully were the managers, noel byrne more or less carried the water, i wonder will the 3 peake boys stay at Town now
What happened to Kenny Condon ??? Thought he was new Villa manager
Anyone hear anything about the 2 Fitzgerald brothers leaving Carrick Utd and heading to Cahir Park??very strong rumours around the town of Carrick regarding this.
Looking at Villa last season they would need 5 or 6 players at least, not an easy job to walk into,im sure this will have a major effect on Borris in terms of competing for players,Noel Byrne also had the 3 Thurles lads at Town at Kilkenny City and Fogarty from Saints, have Saints or Town added any new signings?
lads are ye actually falling for this ? how naive some of ye are :) noel byrne is a good manager but if he is the new villa manager i will eat my hat. good 1 mega tots had everyone going :)
