Bad night for Newmarket:(

I agree, the pitches are imposible to play on without proper watering and I dont think many clubs have that option. As you say entertaining game and despite the pitch there was plenty of goal mouth incident. Both sides struggled while playing into the sun, impossible to see the ball in the air. The effort from both sides couldn't be faulted, both sides went all out for the win. In my unbiased opinion newtown deserved the win, with more posession/more goal chances and the Newtown equaliser by that young lad must have been goal of the season:D
Credit to both teams for a very entertaining game but the quality of some of the football was poor - miskicks and mistakes from both sides - probably because of the pitch. The surface was absolutely awful - what has happened to Lees Road - bumps and holes all over it. You would expect these 2 premier sides to be able to string good passing moves together but with the surface that was impossible.
If summer soccer means having to play on bumpy pitches like that its time to forget it.
Wrong conclusion. This is a red herring. The reason the pitch is bad is because of winter soccer. The winter we have just played through.I also have great doubts about the knowledge ,qualifications and ability of the manager of Lees Road.
NB Do not get sidetracked from what appears to be the majority aim of playing in the summer.
forget about him, what about Frankie "centre circle, eagle eyed" Coote....gave a peno for avenue from 40yards away that even they laughed about. But in fairness he really let the game flow, I thought he was pretty good. We need Moher and Bridge Celtic to drop about 4 points each while winning all our games. You never know but Celtic are in a great position.
Huge game for both Moher and Olympic tonight. Can Olympic get a result?
by the way townie ... any match report on the newtown game last night:D
im sure all your talk on this site stirred the newtown lads... fair play
looking like it will go to the last day of the season again this year... anything can happen.....seems as though all this 'preferential' treatment of moher could have them in pole position come the final day...
im cheering on the Bridge Celtic lads. they have been very consistent since been promoted and they have good organisation in the club. Their manager has them well set up.
hopefully they will leave the bridge celtic v moher game til the last day of the season...it should make for a right good finish to the season....
Moher 2 - 2 Olympic.
Moher equalise in 98th minute.
was like a cup tie to be honest
pitch a disgrace, both teams just going flat out for a win. newtown looked to be crusing at 2-0 up after an hour then avenue stormed 3 goals in 15 mins to look like goin top of the table but credit to newtown just kept attacking.. jay stretton got the equaliser by the way a header from 3 yds from a corner an the 4th goal was a mistake by centre back ball caught unuderneath his feet in 6yd box an stroked home.. peno for avenue was a farce but we had been denied 2 blatant ones before hand.... newtown wont win league but if they performed like this more consistently they would have challenged.. cup is going to be interesting
98th miniute, how many seconds in the 98th miniute was it.
In all fairness,8 minutes extra time is outragous, just another talking point in the Mohar saga.
Surely this case is the iceing on the cake for them "Mohar". But i think the tital will go to Bridge Celtic, HOPEFULLY.:ball: For The sake of football in the county. CORRUPT:mad:
in fairness i wouldnt begrudge moher the title...but if they do manage to win the league i think the achievement will be deminished in the eyes of others due to the scheduling of fixtures and decisions like 8 minutes of stoppage time which would be a shame....
but it might not come to dat as it now looks like our boys are in pole position for the league....
8 minutes. not a hope.
4-5 minutes was it tops. 5 subs in the second half aswell.
These minutes need to be clarified.I heard the referee showed the Olympic officials the records of his stop watch where the e.t.was at less than 4 minutes.
has anyone the results from yesterday and the fixtures for this week

I don't think the people in Newmarket would know what to do if they saw a cup in the Village as it's been a long time since there was one there.
They would probably go down to the hurling pitch and ask did one of the teams down there lose it:
Another trophy less year for Rineanna. Still they can have the top team in the parish title for a second year in a row.

So this game (potential title decider) is on Sunday? For Moher? What has happened here? What about all the theories about Moher never playing on Sunday?
First
I couldn't care less if Newmarket or Rineanna won anything, I was merely stating that Newmarket haven't won a trophy in a while.
As for the Moher V Olympic match where's Hacker with an unbiased report of the going's on up there.
I heard Newtown lost at home to Lifford, bad result after beating Avenue during the week that must put them out of the league now does it?
Did Bunratty get promoted back to the premier yesterday with the win over Corofin?

Ah! Wayne lighten up , that kind of stress will cause you to lose your zwing!!!!
Yes they have Little or no chance now.
This game was one of the poorest games ever played down in Ballycasey to be honest.Newtown went 1 nil up with Trevor Maxwell scoring in the first half.Second half was absolute SH1TE to watch with both teams making little or no effort to play good football.Newtown had 1 or 2 half chances but didn't take them.Lifford were handed 2 own goals to win the game, first was a fine header from Tom OHare and second was buried into the back of the net by Noel Donnellan.Pity they were scored in the wrong end of the pitch. Don't think anyone of the 20 odd players gave anything to this game apart from Lifford player "Blondie" i think they call him.All in all pure and utter SH1TE game.
No... Need a win from the last game away to Connolly on Wednesday to ensure promotion.
I thought the corofin vs bunratty game was very entertaining with some good goals and both teams making good effort to play ball. There was also some unsavoury scenes to complete an action packed game.
tell us more...
There was an altercation between 2 players after a tackle. This lead to at least a 10 man brawl with a number of punches thrown. As a result 1 Bunratty player was sent off for kicking a player on the ground. While more could and should have been sent off, this player in particular deserved to go as it was a complete cowardly act.
wat a game to watch bunratty and corofin..but to be fair corofin started to whole thing with the fighting..there was a bit a of a scufffle between 2 which was fair enough cause these things happen in a heated match then a 3 (corofin player) ran half way down the pitch to get involed and threw a punch that was 2 on 1 so then a bunratty player dived str8 in thats when all hell broke out
Whitey is the guy ur talking about smelly feet.
the relagation battle is looking very interesting this year. 4 teams could go down.. a huge 9 days for newmarket... 4 games including the bridge game also m'snn play snn olympic.
still fancy newmarket to stay up... maybe in the playoff spot
Bridge U are in trouble though. i reckon m'snn will stay up though , think they have same battling qualities as newmarket have.
