I was really impressed with Aoucharia last season at Waterford and I definitely thought he could step up a level. I don't have an anti-Irish sentiment at all, I have an anti-pandering sentiment. It's rife at the club and we seem to latch onto anything we can. Writing the odd message here and there in Irish, changing the name for Seachtain na gaeilge, no problem. Cringe stuff like changing the clubs name on Twitter to Gaillimh Aontithe illustrates this point well. There are a few things you should not alter at a club, your name, crest, etc. That's just one example, there are many.

Wass had so much respect from the fans, there was fully grown men on social crying about the management not giving him a runout in the last game before he was released. The management is “disgusting” apparently for not playing a player that had publicly announced himself he was leaving. He’d such respect there were fellas carrying on like he was at the club for 10 year. Crazy carry on, I’ve seen locals dedicate years to the club get abused.
Our fanbase is in a bit of a weird place to be totally honest. Some of the newer fans have a bit of a blindsight view, and far too high expectations for a club in the LOI first division. Come out with bat**** crazy comments on a regular occurrence. Fellas coming out with conspiracy theories and everything. You see more chat on the fans forum group on Facebook when we lose then when we win, kinda have to avoid it sometimes.
