If he has any aspirations to manage in England I think now would be the time to take an opportunity like that. Big club, just missed out on the championship last season in the playoff final, plus the way things are going at Derry having them in third place with the budget they have, he might not get an opportunity like Barnsley again. I understand obviously it’s been a difficult year for him with his brother passing and he may not want to move away from family at this time though which would be understandable too
Seen some Derry fans would be happy if he was sacked after the Shelbourne game. Perplexed about him getting a role in England, considering he is hardly doing a stellar job in this league. Strikes me as someone who could be highly competatent in football outside of a managers role though.
Seems very conservative in games, just happy not to lose, and I never liked that he did not go all out for the league last year. I also have limited sympathy for Derry about injuries. You cant be surprised to sign a lot of players with signifcant injury histories and for them to end up injured a lot (Duffy being the unlucky / unforseen one). Sure take a chance or two, but it's just bad planning to have persummedbly majority of your budget tied up with players who might miss significant parts of the season.
Maybe we're the ones getting old and out of touch with the kids these days! ;)
I don't understand your anti-Irish sentiment though, I always like to see that acknowledged and as we do have many native Irish speakers among our support I don't see why we wouldn't give a cursory nod to them.
I was really impressed with Aoucharia last season at Waterford and I definitely thought he could step up a level. He wouldn't do anything like the work Stephen Walsh does and with the lack of chances we've given to Rob Manley I don't see how it's going to end up any different to that signing and he'll just change from sitting on the bench with Waterford to sitting on the bench with us.
Eanna Clancy from Sligo to UCD confirmed
I don't think so... it was a badly written tweet fullstop. It was like it was done by somebody that just doesn't get football at all, and it was always going to be ridiculed.
Particularly the "earned" part, Waterford were happy to let him leave and released him. It's not like we made them an offer they couldn't turn down and he was making a huge step up to sign for us.
Who uses the term goal involvements in a tweet like this? If you're going to reference something along that lines for a striker, just say how many goals he's scored.
I don't have an anti-Irish sentiment at all, I have an anti-pandering sentiment. It's rife at the club and we seem to latch onto anything we can. Writing the odd message here and there in Irish, changing the name for Seachtain na gaeilge, no problem. Cringe stuff like changing the clubs name on Twitter to Gaillimh Aontithe illustrates this point well. There are a few things you should not alter at a club, your name, crest, etc. That's just one example, there are many.
Matt McKevitt signs for Cobh.
Bit of a left field one. Played for Treaty in 2021 where he was second choice to Red Hanlon. Worked very hard off the bench but didn't show much ability to hold up or score goals.

Done deal. Martin Coughlan's move to Kerry has been confirmed by Kerry FC. Treaty mischievously announced a few weeks ago!
That was after the window opened, however, which makes some difference to the Coghlan announcement.
I don’t have any narrative, I simply wasn’t impressed with him this year. Wass is a nice fella, well respected by the fans and didn’t leave on bad terms by any means. Best of luck to him. I didn’t ignore the first game I mentioned it. I had high hopes for him this year and the first game of the season added to that and unfortunately it didn’t happen. I’m sure there’s many a member in here that have seen their clubs sign players mid season they hit the ground running the next season it never gets going. I’m not saying he’s a bad player, I’m not saying he isn’t good enough for Galway. I’m not saying he won’t kick on at Galway. I’m just surprised Galway signed him. Don’t get me wrong his stats look great on paper. But his performances weren’t particularly great this season and his season never materialised after the first game imo. He started the season as our main striker. And was very quickly benched. Makes you question what his performances on the training ground were like this year especially when the new management went in there.
Despite not being impressed this season. It’s understandable Galway have taken a chance on him. He showed promise in a short spell last year, didn’t reach the same heights this season but he’s still young a free agent and there’s a striker drought in the league right now. I wish him the best and I hope he goes on to have a good career.
Wass had so much respect from the fans, there was fully grown men on social crying about the management not giving him a runout in the last game before he was released. The management is “disgusting” apparently for not playing a player that had publicly announced himself he was leaving. He’d such respect there were fellas carrying on like he was at the club for 10 year. Crazy carry on, I’ve seen locals dedicate years to the club get abused.
Our fanbase is in a bit of a weird place to be totally honest. Some of the newer fans have a bit of a blindsight view, and far too high expectations for a club in the LOI first division. Come out with bat**** crazy comments on a regular occurrence. Fellas coming out with conspiracy theories and everything. You see more chat on the fans forum group on Facebook when we lose then when we win, kinda have to avoid it sometimes.
I was amused by Treaty's announcement. Bad form on Treaty's part but I was amused.
Ethan Kos's signing was different and revealed on the manager's terms. The club had their own ideas on how they wanted to announce Coughlan's return. A bit more spice in new rivalry.
Drogheda United announce the signing of defender Jamie Egan from Bristol Rovers, subject to international clearance.

I think this is one of the issues with all the new fans coming in to the league. Older fans are pretty much hardened to teams and clubs routinely being a mess and know this is cyclical in League of Ireland. New fans seem to come in from watching Premier League where everything is completely blown out of proportion and dramatised. We've won every home game this season but I would be 99% sure the next time we don't win a home game there will be some fans who will boo the team off!
Shels sign Harry Wood on loan from Hull....
Shortest saga ever comes to an end. Higgins to stay with Derry after holding talks with Barnsley apparently

Shels becoming Hull 23s in full swing already.
Drew Baker joined Waterford on loan from Fleetwood. He's a defender and was with Bohs for first half of this season on loan. Anyone see him play?
Adam Verdon signing for UCD aswell….
Alex Nolan of UCD has signed for Pats. Is he any use UCD fans? I know the name but can’t say he’s one that stood out against Pats in the past
Kian Leavy destined for Pats aswell apparently, turned down an offer from Shels ….
It looks like the worst kept secret of Aodh Dervin signing for Galway United is official.
Bohs signed Polish right back Bartlomiej Kukulowicz. Should be straight into the squad for tomorrow.
