going to be an interesting draw next sunday morning. I'd presume regional will beat douglas hall, so there'll be 3 limerick teams left in the fai. hopefully they can avoid each other. Out of those 3 teams fairview would be the strongest in this competition. Regional will take some beating though.
boro 14/1 don't waste your money, they'll be knocked out in the next round
Fairview will win this trophy.
You probably saw the paper tonight, but this was the
Pike team-
Bennis
Mitchel
Mullins
Enright
Mcgarry
Corbett
Hartnett
O'Shea
Boyle
Nabs
Maloney
Subs :
O'Donovan for Mitchel
Not sued
O'Grady
Purcell
Barry
Pike up 1 nil (hartnett) at half with not much between the sides. Eris equalised immediately inthe 2nd hald. Boyle get a reply minutes later. Eris get one abouit 20 mins later and then a free kick into the box not dealt with and they take the lead. Pike throw everything at them and missed a few good chances.Conditions and pitch was not great.
Don't think erris will win the comp. but they did enough to win yesterday!
mixed results for the limerick teams.the views result predictable enough so well done to them, great result for the boro and by all accounts well deserved though i think its a bit sad to see people on here slagging off the st.micks centrehalf is baffling, you dont get 50caps cause your the managers pal.pikes result is yet another disaster for them especially given the squad they have assembled, every year they seem to bottle it.btw why oh why would alan barry return to boro, is he not cuptied, very strange.
i can tell you west united were not happy campers yesterday after there game with sheriff was switched to the all weather at the last minute, west were only told at 12 that morning, some players didn't even have the proper footwear, west walked some of the pitches in the AUL and a couple of them were well playable but it still went ahead on the astro, getting back to the game, sheriff were a very good side, west were the better side for most of the game and led 1-0 at half time, sheriff were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark, have to give sheriff great credit a goal down and a man down they played very well, ref was top notch up there,no hometown decisions, sheriff equalised from a corner with about 7 minutes left and west just went out of the game,no real chances in extra time,my one gripe about sheriff is they probably play 2 much football, they give teams time to get behind the ball and defend, west i think lost there grip of the game when there 2 best performers on the day went off injured midway through the 2nd half, hadn't the resources on the bench they would normally have, captain was suspended for been sent off in previous round and top scorer was out injured,it's a pity i think west would of taking serious stopping had they went through, sheriff won't be far away.
sheriff were a good bunch of lads and an excellent team who showed great character to come back,i wish them well in the next round even if west were a little bit aggrieved to be put on the astro pitch.
Great win for the 'Boro',totally deserved!!As for St Michaels being average as someone has stated, cannot credit be given to the 'Boro' for making St Michaels look average!Things have been coming along nicely for the 'Boro' in the last few weeks so you never know, last 16 anything is possible.
As you have said above anything can happen if home advantage is got!
well done to janesboro. totally deserved their win. seem to have a very good young side there that fight very hard for each other. despite one or two reckless challenges that went unpunished, they dominated and got their just rewards. best of luck in the next round.
