Think I hit a nerve kevin haha but what I said yesterday was right I know a team few weeks back where down to play sat at 2 o clock they got call off member of Aul to say game was changed to sat nite in mayfield and Aul fixture secretary told the person that was calling to tell team the game had to be played no excuses I won’t mention they name of person who phoned the club but the club where told game was being played end of so saying times can’t be changed is lie.
Utter nonsense,,,,,,,,
Nice pints in Aghabullogue?
What’s nonsense
Plenty more rain on the way this week if games or called again scrap the season ha
Could be wrong but talking to lad today who said Astro gone up in price from what they were paying last year
It's a limited market an those that have can define the price.
Those that don't have to fork out.
In general the price of an astro is over the 150 at the very least.
Wasn't the case last year ,less again the season before,,,,,,times have been tough .
Crazy money for clubs that can’t afford it 150 pitch 60 ref 20 wash gear 230 euro before you kick a ball our clubs mad you’d have to have 23 players charging 10 euro ahead to cover it.
True cause if lads don’t play club at a loss it’s ok for clubs that have money behind us smaller club survive on script they collect
No way any player will pay €10 a game. Hard to get any money off fellas these days. Astro pitches have gone through the roof, most places €150 without lights probably €200 with lights. More rain due, can't see many games going ahead this weekend.
Agree hard enough now getting fellas to turn up never mind getting money off um
At some point lads have to stop blaming everyone else the AUL, the weather, lack of players, no funding, the cost of Astros etc.
You got to grab the bull by the horns and get your own house in order set out your own high standards, get on funding and fundraisers and yes at times the price of an Astro will be required.
Be upfront and honest with players this is what is expected here no one’s forcing them to be at a club.
Success will follow might take an extended period but it will come and the club will be better for it in the long run.
There is plenty of clubs who will
half arse it I’m sure they would welcome people with similar mind set with open arms.
More than welcome Kevin. Games every week of the season. Very little of this called off games nonsense! Apparently terrible teams and players too, so you would walk the league and cup competitions sure, guaranteed to be playing at Turners Cross and get out of Cork in Munster Junior & FAI Cups. You’d win every week with the lack of competition.
But let’s stick to the mighty AUL will we? Are we all looking forward to another weekend on the couch!?
I couldn't care less if games get played or not I am well retired, haven't kicked a ball in 5 years . I am just a spectator now when the weather is nice. I aint standing in the rain to watch AUL or CBL matches I am made of soap I will wash away
A man after my own heart ?
Anyone spot a certain AUL representative at Aghabulllafords recent awards night. Pictures posted on Facebook. Can't say I've ever seen them turn up to another clubs night
Spot on but most fellas involved with clubs at AUL won’t admit it. It’s too easy to blame everything and everyone else without taking a look in the mirror. Honestly the AUL attracts the biggest moaners and whingers in the world. Get the fundamentals right at your own club first and then worry about changing global football.
I’m assuming a lot of games be called today
Another wash out bar Astros and next weekend will also be touch and go
You are right to a certain degree but there is still a nice few clubs in the AUL.
Clubs still in the AUL
Coachford
Springfield
Corkbeg
UCC
Castle view
Strand
Greenwood
Watergrasshill
Blackstone
Rathcoole
Kilmichael
Bweeng
Mogeely
Los Zarcos
Churchvilla
Rathcormac
Castlebridge
That’s 17 clubs still remaining
How many of these above own their own grounds? That will narrow your list even further.
I think the away team in CBL pays for the ref on match days. Still don't know how they afford to pay for an astro every second week tho very expensive unless getting sponsorship. Astro does seem the way forward tho, can't see teams/clubs agreeing to the summer league.
Some list in fairness.
Glenthorne game off pitch waterlogged
Im not here to start an argument or stir S##t but im out here in st Mary's park and castleview junior players are playing with the senior team tonight how is that even still happening this late in the season and they have there own match tomorrow if i was castleview junior manager i wouldn't be 1 bit happy weather they have a say in it or not its ridiculous carry on this late in to season
I’m assuming fish if there playing tonight they can’t play junior no more to far into season
Who won
I’d imagine they won’t have to worry about junior game tomorrow with rain that’s been falling this evening most games will be gone again.
Mary’s beat up going up app think fish is right tho if players playing both Msl and Aul now something now right but I’m not getting into this playing bettering themselves and this end of stage end of
Bit of a cup upset down in Cobh tonight, Springfield 2 Los Zarcos 6
