I may be wrong but I don't think it is, I think that Michael Collins played Youths/U-21 for Ireland under the parentage rule.
You may be thinking of Michael Collins who was at Liverpool as a youngster but was released and ended up signing for a club in Italy. As far as I know he is Eamonn Collin's nephew.
Eamonn Collin's son Joe, was at Portsmouth but I'm sure he got released last summer.
Have Holmes and Parkhouse signed for Derry?
Not sure about Holmes but Kenny looks like he is thinking about signing parkhouse

Ex Bray striker John Flood and ex Newry City version of "Pele" Kyle Moron in attendance at the start of Pre Season triaining with us today. Couple of other players with LOI expwerience where also in attendance but names are unknown.
Moran is useless... Sorry if you get lumped with him... Would rate him much more than Fitzpatrick only Fitzer doesn't claim he's any good...
Andy Haran gone on loan from us to Shels... They also signed Sean Byrne from Bohs as well
From the way it was worded I'd say signed...

Where are Drogs getting all the money?
Just to save everyone else the bother.:D
I'm really confused. There were loads of signings announced by clubs between the end of last season and the end of the year - had a very quick look back at this thread - were all those players not really signed as such?
Also what about players who still had a year or two left on their existing contract at the end of last season - are they signed on a 2009 contract for 2010?:confused:
I think that difference is why it's being suggested Sligo will have to pay Turner although he was technically never their player and is thus free to go to Rovers.
I suppose in the general employment sense, if he's there as little as he is, he can presumably give the standard couple of days' notice and walk out. The transfer window or the three club rule wouldn't affect him though if he was never registered. But that's me guessing to fit what seems to have happened obviously.
Clubs are employers and can enter into contracts with whomever they want and the contract stands on its own terms in law. League registration is in the gift of the FAI and is a totally different matter.
While a player could be contracted (and as per the terms paid) he cannot play in the League without registration of the League.
Contract - legal agreemebt between parties (player/club)
Registration - FAI agreement that player can participate in League.
I would agree with this. Chris Turner would have a contract as an employee of Sligo, but could not play in the league until a separate registration was registered with the FAI.
If Shamrock wanted to sign him they/Chris Turner would have to reach agreement with Sligo to cancel his contract before registering him with the FAI.
