I wouldn't expect Dundalk to come up at first attempt but I`d be expecting a decent season, yes bigger fish to fry on debt / ground / lights / ownership / DFC trust take off, take your pick, but would still think there will be a decent budget.Quote:

I see Dundalk asking fans to buy virtual tickets for Fridays game. The club must be in dire straights but as much as you'd love to do it as a fan and help your club, could you really part with the money when there has been so little clarity from the owner. What's to say thousands buy the virtual ticket and yet at the end the club is still melted down at the end of the season? The sole focus from the fans now should be creating one unified trust and getting as much money in the kitty as possible let it be to buy into Dundalk FC should it be saved or to get a new club up and running for 2026.
Ok some clarity is emerging. 1903 SC is not set up costitutionally to fill the role of the new trust without having an EGM to build on what is an aspirational statement in their constitution to become a trust in due course. There isnt time for this process. I would like to know for sure if the SC were asked not to raise funds by JT and what their response to himi was, if they asked why, and whether they were or are willing to suspend their efforts until the season has concluded. This is is their role currently imo, to aks such questions and to look to potentially keeping the day to day cost of things covered in he short term rather than proposing a seperate but identical funding model as the trust. A joint statement from the two on what they are doing together and seperately would be very welcome. In the mean time I accept what is being said by the trust and that is the group that i will pay in to on subscription and will continue to support SC fundraising as it crops up. I would like to have seen the virtual ticket for the next home game be a SC initiative rather than directly by the club but will also purchase one regardless (if they are assessing viability going forward that potential ticket sale will be an important part so all Dundalk fans should really be either buy match night or virtual tickets).
I still think it was ridiculous that that this messiness happened with efforts to save the club, I havent changed my opinions on how it came about but I am satisfied on what is the the correct way forward to support all this effort by the respective fans involved! I hope that 1903 SC will show a mature common sense approach and clear the path for the Trust to look forward and the SC to be on the ball now and continue to represent supporters with the club - maybe down the line look at their own subscription based membership that could also have a direct say on the running of the football club, a trust alternative even, when crises have passed, everything is rosy and we are hogging league titles again....
*Oh hang on, the club are to announce a sub scheme - United People of Judea front! This will be fun if they say its the difference between folding the club or not. Out of interest can an owner fold a club even if there are offers to buy and bail out, like some clause in participation rules or legally not able to kill jobs, leave creditors in trouble etc. by refusing on stubborness or malice to sell to a fair offer?
I wont judge what this new 500 club that has been announced by the DFC is until details emerge but if it doesnt offer a shareholding then its just the club Lotto with money raised spent as the owners like.
The idea mooted on the Press box podcast that the Trust (the one proposed by the lads on the podcast) wont give the club money if its being wasted is nonsense really, if the owner says he needs the money for wages it will be paid over becasue thats what the Trust membership would insist happened rather than see the club go under.
The owners whomever they are are buying the club for the debts (if they even pay them as opposed to going into Scarp) about 1.2 or 1.5M.
The Lad on the Podcast was talking about rasing 500k or 1 million per year for several years.
So the new owners buy the club for around 1.5m (or possibly nothing) and the Trust invests 500k a year and get what exactly??
I know people might say they are helping the club but they arent really they are helping the owners who are getting the club on the cheap.
The trust should insist on a significant shareholding or state publically that the money raised will be used in a few years time to buy the club or a stake in the club to give them some ability to influence things.
Im not saying the trust is a bad idea but if the solution to DFC problem is to pretty much give the club away to (who knows) andf then give them 500k a year then its a great solution for the guys getting the club.
Lets see if a shareholding is proposed or a route to one as money is invested by the supporters
From what Im getting is that the new trust are raising money to either buy a stake in the club or buy the club if an owner is bailing out and folding the existing club. It will either happen quickly with barely time to raise substantial amounts or over time accumulated finance could be enough to turn he head of an owner and allow a stake in the club + an annual amount then could be for the club. It has been mooted that future annual subs are ringfenced for stadium infrastructure.
A club run trust is the cat among the pigeons, it would be hard not to be conflicted by the clubs saying this happens or its gone so witholding contributing to the sustainability of the club. I feel that it wont fly without a stake in ownership. What will be offered imo will be a rep on the board. If I were to consider this club thing then access to accounts, knowing who and what are other owners putting in etc which I reckon wont be easily attained. If this doesnt fly then it wil be said that it is THE reason for deciding the club is not viable. Maybe this is where/why the SC were being told to not 'fundraise', the trust are totally detached from the club so couldnt be asked and if they were would have been told where to go even just simply as their purpose is seperate from the club right now.

Ignoring all the little tales, JT prevented the club from being wound up, we have no idea what he has planned yet so if a random fan was venting at the current state of things then he was hitting the wrong person. Now if that person is an associate of maybe previous people invloved then there could be some context and likely plenty of drink on board. The civilised Stand eh....
The sort of broad strokes of painting a picture that happens with issues at Dundalk FC are in full flow after last night e.g. JT is from the Avenue Road, the chosen pub of former people making decisions at the club is the Avenue Inn on the Avenue Rd funnily enough. May have never have crossed paths, the Avenue Rd is a couple of miles in length and has thousnds of people living in the 100s of housing developments on one of the main arterial roads in Dundalk. But of course what happened last night and even JTs involvement at all is due to past beef that must have happened in the Avenue Inn....

Definitely misused! But whether that was daft or sinister well it would be reckless for anybody to suggest funds were stolen without any way to back up claims. What is known is that there was a dispute between BA and who he bought the club from on legacy debt, BA let the former COO go and issues between the parties were quite apparent. Beyond that its joining the dots and assumptions made.
Imo it was up to BA to make sure his due diligence was thorough, if info was witheld from him then we'll wait for legal recourse to happen. If there is no case to answer, no investigation then its wrong to say its any more than rumour. In the absence any legals then its likely to be just a blame game, deflection, egos easily bruised mixed with rumour in a fact vacuum. It is symptomatic of issues at the club in recent years where agendas and divsion have done damage, to what extent we dont know yet. Even the efforts of fans to intervene have somehow been divisive.
