As well as wages and salaries, over €40,000 in funding for children’s and youth soccer earmarked for Bray’s nursery club St Joseph’s AFC (known as Joey's) has not been paid. This is money that comes from UEFA and it is specifically for this purpose - Bray has no right to use it for any other expenditure.
That's been reported several times over the past year or so.
3 years today since Darren Quigley claimed the Bray Chairman was refused entry to the Carlisle by Gardai but later got in and promptly changed the locks.

I can't see a way back from this for Bray. If and when the club folds, would there be the appetite to reform as Bray Unknowns and start from the bottom?!
Would Bray fans get behind Cabinteely if the council let them play there?
At least you'd have a club with a solid base playing in Bray.

Would hate to see that happen as Joeys would have no ambition other than to continue to sell off kids to the UK, they'd never develop a support base.
We would be better off letting a second club up from the first division rather than have a play off with whomever finishes second bottom and try and fill the gap in the first division with a team from Tralee / Mayo / somewhere .........anywhere
As far as I know Joeys have never shown the slightest interest in taking a place in the LOI. understand the idea (given location) but don't see any logical reason for them to do so now.Quote:

so for the cost of running an amateur under 21 type team that can finish bottom of the first division every year I could see them opting in.
If they don't and Bray fold they will be out of the Natiional leagues as I can't see Rovers UCD or cabinteely allow them run the show and change their crests etc.
Given the money they will lose if they can't send their best 15/16 year olds off to UK academies for a pittance as they do now I could see them going for it.
Biggest danger would be if the FAI allow them to compete as Joeys in the underage leagues but I cant really see that happening after the Kevins fiasco

With Cabo, UCD, Rovers all operating in pretty much the same catchment area there'd be no need for them to stay in the underage leagues with no senior team and you can bet your house those 3 teams would do everything they can to block them tryingQuote:

Waterford the winner , Limerick and Dundalk to a lessor extent lose out, although you could say Cork are a loser as they would have probably picked up the 3 points anyway whereas Dundalk are getting 2 points back they actually dropped
