I'd guess 3,700 for the game tonight with about 1,200 from Rovers. Great crowd on both sides.
Carlisle Grounds tonight worse crowd I have ever seen, counted approx. 15 Galway fans and no more than 200 Bray fans, how could you survive with gates this size,really need to reduce ticket prices and try and attract punters......
I suspect that price is not the primary issue. As I recall extratime report on season tickets declared Bray the lowest cost in the premier division. Presume match day tickets are not above €15? Would lowering this to price to €10 increase attendances by 33%?Quote:

Obviously it'll depend on what's to play for in the final round of games, but thanks to the huge Rovers travelling contingent, the Leinster based nature of the league and things like the poor Dundalk v. Drogheda crowd earlier in the season, right now I'd guess that Sligo, Pats, Galway and Fingal all had their biggest gates against Rovers? Obviously that's just going off the top of my head from what I can remember (I wasn't at the Drogs game) but it couldn't have been far off.

Anyway despite the poor crowd, was encouraging to hear the Bray fans singing in the second half, showed some real support - exactly what the LOI is all about

It also doesnt help when you dont have Derry and Cork visiting twice this year, away crowds do appear to be down this year for us, but thats not something you need to be depending on, clubs need to build and maintain their own crowds. Do whatever it takes to get the punters in.
Monday should see us attract over 3,000 but it will be back to around 2,000 or so for the visits of Galway and Sligo later in the month. The consistency level is just awful in this league compared to the wonderful supported clubs in Lge 2 in UK for eg, playing at a similar standard, clubs who never move above 15th for eg, will be guaranteed 3 and 4k per week.
Now thats proper support.
I'm guessing Harps will bring the biggest number of away fans to any ground this tuesday.

Certainly is! We've been playing on Sunday afternoons as an experiment, a bit catastrophic frankly. We've switched back to Friday nights now, from last night (Athlone) onwards. Even though the total attendance was lower, there was probably more home fans at the match last night compared to when Derry visited the week before last.Quote:
