So you could all things considered, it's a pretty Rapid recovery, eh Pablo?
Apologies but Tricky would have got there anyway. :)

Nah, Tricky would have to check first on the statistical likelihood of such a recovery and match that to the statistical accuracy of Pablo's previous predictions.
Off the bench late last night, and scored the last goal in a 3-1 win for Denver
touch of offside about it, nice finish though
Miles!
Funny piece on Doyle and his Colorado roommate Dillon Powers:
Scored the opener for Colorado Rapids last night in a 2-1 win
goal and an assist for Doyle last night in Vancouver
Brilliant assist.
he'll play himself back in the reckoning hopefully. offers more than murphy when on form.
i thought he was hard done by when not selected for the squad going to the euros. when they knew walters wasn't going to be fit he should have made the plane.
on top of that murphy had so little game time.
would have been a good option to replace walters even if only off the bench
Murphy started two games!
I was impressed by Murphy. He was a lot better than I expected.
Murphy played much better than I thought he was capable of . If he can produce that kind of display regularly then he is well worth this place in the squad and if the opposition/tactics suggest it , in the team.
Looks like we are down to Long, Walters and Murphy.Quote:
Kevin Doyle appears unlikely to travel from the United States to join up with the squad. The striker has been struggling for a week or so with an ankle injury and appears not to have had any word by Sunday afternoon as to whether he should make the journey or not.
One who seems to be perenially wrapped in cotton wool, and one who hasn't played any league football since he scored in Serbia.
I'd expect Gary Rogers to get another token call up before anything is done about it though.
A brace for Doyle last night in a 2-1 win as Colorado went top of the Western Conference. The first is a brilliant diving header, the second a very dodgy looking penalty.
His goals are on 0:30 and 2:50.

I always feel a bit guilty about Doyle. He picked up a long term injury playing for Ireland and was never the same afterwards. Gibson was another in similar circumstances but I somehow don't feel as bad for him.
Don't blame yourself Owls.
Didn't Gibson just fall down injured (like Keith O'Neill),
whereas Doyle got injured in the thick of the battle?
Cracking header here.

"he flys through the air with the greatest of ease....."
He has always been good at heading the ball.
Playing against Portland on Sky Sports 3 now
Losing 1-0 at HT. Just caught it.
Colorado and LA Galaxy gone to penalties now on Sky Sports 5.
Doyle luckily scores his!
Colorado win... Keane never even got to take one.
I think Keane was lined up to take the fifth penalty. Doyle, as you say, very lucky to score his, terrible penalty. He's on to the next round against Seattle now, Keane and Gerrard are very likely done in LA.
I assume so, always a risky tactic. Seattle aren't quite there yet but lead 3-0 from the first leg. Are these quarter finals so?
Yes, they are. Montreal will play Toronto in one semi and Colorado will play Seattle in the other. The semis are over two legs and the final is a one match play off held at the stadium of the team with more regular season points.
Too many washed up has-beens in the MLS these days looking for a final pay packet before retirement. Pirlo, Lampard, Keane, Gerrard, Villa, Drogba, etc. None of them are good enough to have a place in the starting lineups anymore.
Toronto FC for years pursued players like this and went nowhere. They finally said forget it and began targeting guys like Michael Bradley and Giovinco who are both still in their twenties.
Drogba actually threw a hissy fit and refused to report to a match a few weeks ago when he was told he'd be coming off the bench. The manager said fine, we don't need you anyway, you're useless at age 38 and can barely run. Drogba had to swallow his pride and come off the bench for the last fifteen minutes today.
Keane's decline seems to have been pretty much overnight at that level? I just assumed he was being phased back after injury.
Keane has 10 goals in 17 appearances this year though. That's hardly 'washed up' form really?
No no, I don't mean to say that Robbie was washed up when he signed for them in 2012. He's been one of the, if not the, best player in the league since then. He has suffered a serious loss of form this season, especially since he came back from the Euros. He's just not able to run anymore! Yes, he has had a multitude of injuries, but that can only be expected for a man his age playing against guys that are fifteen years younger.
Giovanni dos Santos is the main man for the Galaxy now. There's a reason that Keane and Gerrard didn't make it into the starting XI for the last few weeks, and I don't think it was injury. Both of them will be allowed to leave.
Doyle gave Colorado the lead but they lost 2-1 last night in the first leg of their Western Conference playoff against Seattle. His deflected goal is pretty much at the start of the video below. The second leg is on Sunday.
