Yeah but they had Ryan Thompson in nets
No complaints about the result or going out last night. I thought BATE upped their game considerably compared to the first leg, and there was just no way past for Dundalk. We tried to get over them at the back and almost every effort was snuffed out, comfortably too, we also tried getting behind them on the wings and that also had very limited success.
I don't think we could have done any better really, and I'd say a Championship side in England would have had trouble getting past them, it was an extremely tough draw to get them, but at least we had a fair go over the two legs, and that should stand to us.
Good to see the players and mgt team so disappointed at the end. Thankfully too the whole event passed off peacefully, supporters played their parts, but the club did a good job organising the whole thing.
Best of luck to both UCD and Rovers tonight.
Skonto Riga are getting a hiding at the moment. 4-0 down to Debrecen after 40 minutes.
Edit: 5-0 at half time.
Odd are resting a good few key men. Lol if Rovers do it. Not sure why Waters isn't starting and the two Brennans are.
Any streams for the Odds Rovers game.
gonna presume no stream for the ucd game
Awful game in Norway can see odds repeating last weeks scoreline.
Great stream for the Rovers game. Have it casting to my TV and quality is fantastic
UCD two down.
Swan pulled one back.
Rovers creating a few chances now.
That was dreadful defending.
Poor auld Rovers. Game over for them.
And UCD
Odd have a lovely ground.
2-0 Odds. That puts an ends to Rovers' dreams.
At 10 I have to go onto local radio and explain why I predicted at least 1 of our 3 clubs would be in action next week. I think I'll just say all 3 will be in action, just not in Europe. Hate having to listen to gombeens telling me how poor our league is, I'm tired of pointing out that at least we have proper supporters and half-decent business plans. Not just using blood money, well, except for Finn Harps that is.
Rovers pulled one back
Another LOI european saga reaches it's premature end , overall a poor campaign with notable exceptions UCD & Dundalk away.
That was such a shame of a way to end a great adventure. Never stopped trying to play ball and had them rattled for a spell when we pulled one back. But we got tired and left gaps; 3-1 was maybe fair but 5-1 was really harsh. And had we equalised - and we had chances - who knows.
Unbeaten home record in Europe gone. But worth it for the last month.
Also, Birkirkara 1-0 West Ham at half time! 1-1 on aggregate
Linfield currently going through on away goals but still most of the 2nd half to run in that one
Could be one of maltese footballs finest hours if they knock West Ham out even if they don't their performances are to be admired.

Would it top this?
That Maltese outfit and West Ham has gone to ET. Tuned into the last 30 mins and West Ham created nothing. Could well go to penalties..
UCD must be gutted they didn't draw them now!
Is it on TV ?

once you get past all the ads
Cant find a link for it anywhere Uefa will have to do.
Didn't fancy them on penos, pity.
Hard luck UCD,was down at the game earlier but you could see after about about 10 mins that yee had a huge uphill battle on your hands v Slovan.
Yous have great fans though and it was a pleasure to mingle there tonight and to talk to some really good & knowledgeable LOI football people.
Well that was disappointing. Just finished watching the match as I chose to go to UCD and watch some decent ball instead. Thought we'd at least go out with a fight, but that was awful. Odd are a bang average team but their forwards bullied ours, they have a decent set piece and they're technically OK - none of which I can say about us. Unfortunately we're a less-than-bang average team and Nutsy needs to fix it.
