I heard he signed yesterday?

Jonathan Minnock could be on the way back to Harps, as well as Davitt Walsh and Matthew Crossan. Now, if we could get Minnock and McHugh both to sign, it would prove a good bit of work by James Gallagher.

Interview with Sean Connor. Says he is interested in bringing both Thomas Heary and Chris Turner to Terryland. He says he has talked to the 2 of them. Also mentions Liam Burns but if Dundalk cant afford him I cant see how we can.
As mentioned elsewhere Dundalk offered him a contract on 40% of what he was on last year and he was involved in the recent uncontracted players training session so I suspect he will be settling for a lot less than last year.
Seanie seems to be bringing his usual players down to Galway. Better hope they sign one year contracts or you will be stuck with them when he is gone !
Can't see how Liam Burns would be a realistic possibility for Galway. Even on a significanlt reduced weekly wage - say something in the region of €700 - €750 plus accommodation costs - surely the c €35k would not fit into Galways budget.
Turner as a possibility is even more bizarre - the offer he rejected at Dundalk was even higher again!
Shaun Kelly is also a bit of a mystery - likely to cost similar amount to Burns if he is to stay full time.
Thomas Heary is a more realistic possibility - but the reason why he has had no other offers must be obvious.
Sean Connor is either shooting up hot air, or the Galway budget is far higher then indicated previously.
The third possibility is the most worrying for Galway fans - Seannie uses every trick in the book to sign some of these guys, and others are left to pick up the pieces.
Its great to see people taking a few quotes and automatically saying our Budget is going to be increased dramatically (we havent officialy announced any signings). We have submitted our Budget and went through the interview stage over a week ago and as far as I know its been approved.
There are a number of teams who have announced signings of up to 7 new players and who subsequently have had their budgets refused and yet their own fans spend their time slating fellow clubs for foolhardiness.
I wouldnt be Sean Connors biggest fan but at the open forum he said he would be working with a squad of 15 core players supplemented by A team and U 19 players and i will wait to pass judgement until I see that squad. Its a buyers market and players are becoming more realistic and the closer it comes to mid February they will have to lower their demands or risk ending up with no club.
I could be wrong but was or is she a spokesperson for FORAS?
She worked for Cork Community Liaison Officer I think she was. Well known about the place pre Tom.
Think Franco's back with us, training with us atm.
I am not aware of anyone who has concluded that.
As I see it, a dramatically increased budget (over that suggested in early December by Nick Leeson) is only one possibility:
Sean has a lot of excellent attributes as a manager and recruiter of players - but straight talking and straight dealing is not in his nature. The Galway board have a major job on their hands to keep his exuberance in check with whatever the financial realities are at Galway.
Has Billy Dennehy's contract been cancelled with Cork?
Dennehy top player should go to Dublin or Overseas
My money has to be on Rovers.
Rumoured to be of interest to Hartlepool.
Dennehy could easily make a good living in League One or 2nd level in Germany, but I'd hate to see him leave the LOI.
It's annoying that we see good quality players end up in the lower reaches of the English leagues, personally I'd love to see some go further afield (more than at present) because some players, like Dennehy, would be solid additions to 2nd division sides in France or Germany, or even Italy. But, as you say, the finances and structures are not in palce in Ireland to keep them here!
Isnt there a young lad from Dundalkm plying his trade with Triestana in Serie B in Italy. Stephen O'Donnell, young chap who came through Quay's ranks and went to Celtic was released there before Xmas, FOster is a keen admirier of him and is app in constant contact with him about signing for us but I was told that he got a few trials with Premeirship sides in England. It would be great for him to get a deal but I would rather see him join us, do well and maybe get us a few bob in July. Same with Nathan Murphy and his ongoing saga with Blackburn.
His name is conor mccormack dillonman he was released from Man Utd and he joined Triestiana
Mickey Collins to Cork.
I remember reading a rumour that former Blue Dave Mulcahy had joined Shels. But I can't find confirmation of this.
Was it just a rumour ?
