Newcastle have to play Glin (home), Ballingarry (away), Abbeyfeale (away) and Broadford (away).
Rathkeale have Abbeyfeale (away), Carrig (home), Askeaton (home) Broadford (away)
 Anybody know who won last night's Old Mill v Killeaney match ?
Think the Killeaney and Old Mill match was canceled. Don't know why.
Killeaney were away to St Itas and this match was called off due to a bereavenment in the Itas camp
thanks Western Gale... I got the fixtures backwards.....isn't it amazing that it keeps happening to Killeaney? Those lads will be knackered by the time they get their league finished.
Desmond Cup Semi Final
Athea Utd 2 Newcastle West 1
Darren Murphy put Athea ahead after ten minutes with John Cotter getting a second before half time. Newcastle got one back in the second half with an own goal but Athea held on despite coming under strong pressure from the premier division side. Athea are now into their first ever Desmond Cup final and on the first Friday in June the division one side will meet either Glin Rovers or Rathkeale
Thats correct, Athea were without three players that would definately have started and all three will hardly play again this season with injuries
Division 1
Killeaney 0 Old Mill 0
Division 2
Kilcornan 1 Rockhill Rovers 1
Congratulations to Athea. Ballingarry B 0 Breska Rovers 4,which meant that Ballingarry were relegated. Anybody know how Pallaskenry v Knockaderry went?

Will last nights result upset NCW?
They are away to Broadford tomorow...could be tricky...
My god the pitch looks fantastic well done to Joe Mcgrath and who ever else is involved....the surface looks great probably the best I have seen it in years and some very straight lines too my I add.....
Thanks again Harry Lime quality;)
I was at the Semi Final between Rathkeale Glin tonight and couldnt help thinking a few things....the Desmond League could have added a little pagentry to the whole occasion, making a "sense of occasion" which clearly was missing from an otherwise entertaining game in superb facilities.
The officials could have led out the two teams, instead they came out all seperately, barely noticeable. Why isint there a sheet of paper for the people when they pay at the gate with the teams, numbered players and a few small details?
There could be a loudspeaker telling people about substitutions, injury time minutes etc,and music at half time....they could have a "SIOPA BEAG" set up beside the dressingrooms for a bit of extra revenue,a few things for the kids and tea & coffee for the adults....
All these small things would surely add to the sense of occasion and improve attendences?
Desmond League have come a long way, and continue to go in the right direction on and off the field, well done, keep going, push on & thank you.
Why are we still awaiting an apology from Fr. Joe? The pitch and lines were perfect tonight. Just in case you don't know Rathkeale 1 Glin Rovers 0. Stonewall penalty given and scored. Pretty uneventful game in which Glin hit the woodwork with 10 mins. remaining. Nothing much between the teams, but overall I think Rathkeale shaded it, without being outstanding. A bit like last night, some more self-belief might have got Glin Rovers a result. On tonight's performance Athea United would give themselves a good chance.
Fr Joe's a pork chop. Forget about him...
Ya pitch was perfect last night in Clonreask maybe a small bit of work needed around the goal mouths but other than that excellent condition. I agree that there could be more done as an occasion alright. I think ther ewas a loud speaker there alright but obviously not loud enough. I think it was on west Limerick but might be wrong.
Any pictures from the Glin v Rathkeale game Harry Lime?
Killeaney took a giant step towards the 1st division today with a 2-1 win at home to kildimo came from 1-0 down.
It was a vicous encounter with both sides using putting the rules of the games to the limit to gain an advantage. How there was only one booking is something which amazes me.
At one stage ref went to pull a second yellow out to the kileaney forward and relised he had booked him earlier so he quickly tried to hide the card he had in his hand back into his book.
also thought the kildimo right back got away with rolling around like he was shot after tackles also baffles me.
All in all it wasnt a bad game of football, set up for a good contest for league cup final next week.
heard the same , he should have sent the player off, it puts Kildimo out of contention now which is sad for all concerned there. I heard they were up 1 nil at the time.
Is the league cup (div 1) down for friday night?
second question: Is the desmond cup final def penciled in for Friday june 4th?
Broadford 0 Newcastle 0
Ballingarry 3 Shannonside 1
Ballingarry could survive if they continue this run
Any report on the Broadford/NCW game??
Congratulations to both Pallaskenry and Kilcolman on getting promotion today. The 3rd Division produced two exciting games today with Creeves Celtic winning on pens. against Adare Utd.B., and Granagh Utd. coming from behind twice to take the game to E.T. and also win on pens. It'stough on teams to go out on penalties after a long season but these two teams did finish both of their groups well ahead and in the end of the day deserved to be promoted. It wasgreat to see that there was a large attendance at both grounds and that both pitches were in great nick.

Is that what you think or what you hope SKY BLUE?
Not very objective predictions there....
Prem Div tiltle could be settled by Sunday if Rathkeale win their two games (abbey's season is over) and NCW lose to Glin (Glin are in desmond cup final).
I reckon the loss to Athea has knocked back NCW a bit.
Its now Rathkeales title to lose.
Well done to Ballingarry for winning their last 2 games but it looks too little too late
Looks like Kileaney's games in hand are now proving useful and look like taking Div1
Not so SNAFU, Abbeys season is not over, they still need 2 points to be certain of survival. Glin also need 2 points for garanteed survival and I know for certain Rathkeale will get no "gimme" from Broadford on Sunday so the whole thing is still wide open. Saying that, I still think it will be Rathkeale that get over the line before NCW...

Had to bail at half time. Creeves were 1-0 up from a pen at that stage
Congratulations to Creeves Celtic on winning the 3rd Division. The Premier Division opened up big time this evening with NCW winning 3-0 against Glin Rvs and Rathkeale only getting a point against Abbeyfeale after a 0-0 draw. Rathkeale have a really tough match away to Broadford on Sunday morning so everything is all to play for. Newcastlewest were pretty awful in the first half tonight, but got their act together in the 2nd half and won comfortably. Gary Kavanagh got the 1st when a weak shot squirmed under Stack's body. The 2nd was a great strike from Kelly who had just replaced Kavanagh. I'm not sure who scored the 3rd but it didn't matter at that stage as NCW were far too good then.
i wouldnt say we were awful...id say missed chances and the glin goal keeper was outstanding in the first half..gary shanahan got the first with a scrappy goal and james kelly got the second only after coming on and padraig kinahan finished off the game with a cool finish.. league is not over yet with rathkeale away to broadford on sunday..
Once again I got Gary's surname wrong, for which I apologise. He's a good kid and worked hard for the team. I still maintain that you were awful in the first half, in the sense that the overall performance wasn't good enough to be top of the league standard. Ye certainly turned it up in the second half and looked a hell of a lot better. The soft first goal helped but overall a thoroughly deserved win. The ref played a great advantage for the third goal when young 'Rambo' got a late tackle and ye went on and scored. Tomorrow will tell a lot about the league title destinaton. Has anybody got a report on the 3rd Div. final? I heard that it was a very good match and a fine crowd there to witness it.
There is a "No Dogs" rule in COVE PARK Broadford for a very good reason Rathkeale supporters(2 of them, dogs that is). Dog **** is dirty, to state the obvious, and it is also very dangerous if it gets in a childs eye or mouth...we dont hate dogs, we like them, but do not bring them to COVE PARK.
Any results from the prem division today ?
Broadford 0 Rathkeale 6 .
NCW Rovers 4 Glin 0.
