Kenny's comments on Delap: ‘He is a good prospect, but he is part of the England setup at the moment and we have to respect that.’
I say to heck with that! They didnt "respect" Declan Rice's *spits* role in the Irish set up when Gareth was doing up his powerpoint. We need to pursue these guys aggressively.
We won’t know that for sure unless we try.
Just don’t show the FA too much respect along the way is my point. Check in often, make promises, show 1916 videos... etc etc
When Mick talked with Redmond's agent, had Redmond already decided to declare for Jamaica? I'd say Redmond declared his intentions since Mick's time.
No, I agree with the question here from Geysir. There is a difference between not being eligible for us and not wanting to play for us. I think we were all under the impression that his mum is Irish... is that not the case? Or is it due to his caps underage or his cap in the friendly a couple of years ago?
Afaiu, Irish mothered Nathan is still eligible to declare for us until he togs out for Jamaica in a competitive match. At the time Mick talked with the agent, Redmond had not publicly stated his intention to declare for Jamaica.
The misunderstanding is Kenny's (alleged) use of the word "ineligible" and some posters here thinking that meant Redmond was ineligible when Mick tried to tap him up
