the reason you havent heard the words The Elite is maybe because your in the same click??dont get me wrong i will be at the match and hope Carrick win because it will be great for the town especially for the younglads coming through, but i will tell you something a Lot of people in the town say that they would love the club to win the cup but "it will be unbearable to listen to them afterwards"this is the problem with The Elite and this is why i say they dont have the backing of the WHOLE town, which is sad really but best of luck in the game i know the preparation is superb this time round.(by the way, Elite is not just players, but a group of players, supporters, and committee members all with the same attitude
 all that talk is rubbish ...
best of luck to the team , they deserve all they have achieved and have
shown GREAT commitment and desire over the last number of years ,to bring some glory to their home town club .
what is wrong with that ?????
WELL AT LEAST AT some stage ye got up there...Summerville have never been out of town!!! YET!!!!
I never said that there was anything wrong with it,i have already said I hope Carrick win cos it will be great for the town, my point is that in thier chase for glory over the past few years a lot of people(not all) involved with the club(players, fans, commitee members) have become big headed and arrogant and this attitude by some is turning some people in the town against them thats all,and judging by other comments in this forum by lads from other clubs people from outside Carrick havent many nice things to say about Utd either...once again for the good of Carrick on Suir I would wish the team all the best in the game.
Well I would love to know the criteria for selecting players for the Junior International team. When St Micheals came to Celtic Park in Castlebar a few weeks ago they came with a big reputation along with so called internationals in their ranks. If thats the standard that it takes its a bloody joke. I mean how did James Walsh play for his country 40+ times.
I love the fact that the majority of posters in here have absolutely no claim to be here, since there teams barely/Didn't even make it to the out of town stages...And abbey I'd rather the handbag fights then fireworks being thrown onto the pitch below in star's ditch..
Green Hoop good to see you are still on here talking sh1te as usual.
Killester beat Corduff 2-0 in the all-Dublin Semi today, the Dr Mad Holiday Fund is almost ready for collection. When is the other "Runners Up Semi Final" ?
Sh1te? So your telling me hoops,hoops12,summervilleman,abbeyvale,monster, inexile, and a few others have a common interest left in the competition?I think not,I, after we(Pike) got knocked out I ceased to post in this thread, the same goes for the MJC thread also....if your out of the aforementioned competition theres really no reason to post in here, unless your a 3rd party and support no particular team..
What a ridiculous statement - so the only people allowed post in this is from the semi-finalists or 3rd party neutrals????!!!!
No other opinions are valid or welcome!!!!!?????
Hardly the point of a FORUM.
Very silly post there Green Hoop.
Thats the thing their not contributing...just doing the exact same thing as the Limerick Premier forum and spamming it with meaningless taunts and slags...Who in fairness wants to read that,a forum is for discussing usually the topic, not bickering between themselves..
Mad you one of those who've jumped in the Killester bandwagon too?good stuff..
this is a ridiculous comment , im a junior football fanatic started the first ever junior thread on foot.ie and now your saying im not entitled to comment on fai junior cup thread on this forum . My team has never even got to open stage of fai junior cup but id still know alot about almost every club that makes the last 64 year in year out . so think i should be entitled to post without reading rubbish like that. Get a grip boy!
Can anyone tell me when are the semis being played
Just for clarity and to be consistent with all the match reports and results that have appeared on this thread since the competition started.
The game did end up 0-2, however it ended 0-2 after extra time. the game ended 0-0 after 90 minutes and although we competed and at times out played killester, their experience came through in the end.
0-1 to killester in extra time, corduff put a ball across the box, one lad slides in to slot home and narrowly misses, ball ploughed out of the box down field on to lacey who scores as corduff had no choice but to throw everything at it.
killester have that momentum that a form teams has, however if carrick are as good as i heard they are, and i expect them to win the other semi final, they might get the better of killster yet. but we will root for killester.
Green Hoop you should read back on this thread and you will see I “jumped on the Killester bandwagon” a good while back and indeed put my money where my mouth is by backing them in the bookies – which will hopefully get myself and Mrs Mad a few days in the sun if (as I expect) they retain the trophy this year.
It doesn’t give me great pleasure to say that, as their manager Mr Graydon is renowned for his incredible arrogance and disrespect for opponents and indeed for his own players on occasions. This attitude has rubbed off on one or two of the Killester players as well. For that reason I was hoping against hope that Corduff would turn them over yesterday, and they gave it a right go - a well-run and progressive club full of good decent football people who do their business properly and win a lot of friends along the way, would have loved to see them make the final. Promotion to Premier A will make up for it I hope.
typical for most of our so called supporters, when we go out of something they think the world ends, just cos pike are out of something does,nt mean that comp loses any of its gloss.i suppose you ceased to go to our matches after redcastle beat us.it,s my own club but we have the best and most opinionated supporters in the world but when we go out of fai/mjc they just die
scandalous comment by the way, i dont even play junior football the team i play for dont enter the fai junior cup, i live 120 miles from my home club i am still in regular contact with all the players, whenever i do get home i go and watch them, my knowledge of junior football throughtout the country is quite good indeed i have actually seen all four of the semi finalists this year. im no expert but i can give an informed opinion on most things!!!
am i allowed post?
"i have actually seen all four of the semi finalists this year"
What do you think of the remaining three teams on those performances you have seen??
killester are the best team left in the competition, i dont think thats going to surprise anyone
i cannot pick a winner between carrick and castlebar, i think this could go the whole way to penalties. whoever wins this will go into the final as big underdogs but they are 2 very good sides in their own right and are more capable of turning killester over on a good day
personally of the 2 i think carrick might be better equipped to beat killester as i think their 2 central defenders are slightly better and quicker than castlebars!!
castlebar have only conceded 1 goal the whole competition and it was a penalty so how can you say that carricks centre backs r better? you obviously haven't watched celtic, they play three at the back and from what i hear carricks weaknesses r their centre backs!!!!!!
i have seen both teams and i stick to what i said, its just my opinion and doesnt necessarily mean im right, and now that i have given it im sure i will be proved wrong
havent seen castlebarr play this year but even though carrick might not retain their league title this year they can play some lovely football on their day, they have prepared exceptionally well and even with some injury concerns the thought of another final in their own backyard should push them through.
carrick won today i believe
What was the score?
